‘Everything’s the same’
First, we’re excited to see his most recent single, ‘Everything’s the same,’ on tour! This vulnerable track chronicles MICO’s return back home after months of traveling and performing. He sings about how a once-familiar place has changed without him. And how he no longer shares the same memories as the people who stayed while he left to chase his dreams. We’re so ready to scream along to the chorus.
‘Open up your eyes’
Next, we have the opening track to MICO’s debut album: ‘Open up your eyes.’ It makes the perfect opening to the set. And we’re opening up our eyes to just how much MICO’s music has changed our lives. From his independently released songs to his official debut, it feels as if we’ve been growing up alongside his musical journey. This song makes us emotional every time we hear it.
‘OH!’
When the lyrics make us have an existential crisis but the beat makes us want to dance…That is how it will always feel with ‘OH!’ On the one hand, you could have a “normal” life that you know will feel repetitive. Or you could go after your dreams and never stop moving. We can already see the crowd jumping along to MICO as he sings this song and bounces from one side of the stage to the other.
‘Learning to love’
Another one of MICO’s songs we’re hoping to hear is one of the most underrated B-side tracks from When the lights turn on: ‘Learning to love.’ As soon as the beginning piano notes hit, we’ll be crying and screaming and crying some more. It is the perfect declaration of love and would fit in smoothly at the middle of the concert, when we need to take a break from dancing and just sway instead.
‘Senses’
Finally, we have a staple to every MICO concert and a fan-favorite track: ‘Senses.’ He knows how much this song means to us, and we’re so glad every time it comes up near the end of the setlist. This song talks about dreading the day that your partner will wake up and leave. And that inevitability scares you the most. It’s angsty, gut-wrenching, and utterly devastating, which is exactly what we ordered.
