There is no better feeling than when all of your faves bless you with new releases on Friday! Some took us by surprise, and others we’ve been waiting on for quite some time. From Faouzia’s deluxe album, FILM NOIR (fin), to PSYCHIC FEVER’s new single, ‘Pink Lemonade,’ you’re in for a treat!
While summer hasn’t technically arrived yet, our playlists are surely heating up. Whatever your mood, these five new releases will fit your vibe. Check them out, and let us know what songs you’ll be blasting this weekend!
Faouzia – FILM NOIR (fin)
For our first new release, we have Faouzia‘s deluxe album, FILM NOIR (fin). Ever since she dropped started dropping teasers last month, we’ve been begging for this day to come. With three new songs, including her latest release with ‘BIRTHDAY,’ FILM NOIR (fin) closes the chapter on a beautiful debut by Faouzia. ‘YOU’RE A NUISANCE’ is a breakup anthem about your ex continuing to plague your life and ruining the places you used to go with them. Then ‘we’ll have a family someday’ is a quiet (peep the lowercase) and bittersweet track about the future that could’ve been. Yet it still holds out hope for a future with someone new. This album never fails to bring tears to our eyes.

MICO – ‘Do it all again’
Next is MICO‘s third (yes!) pre-release single, ‘Do it all again.’ He’s gearing up to release his debut album, When the lights turn on, in just two weeks. We’ve been following him for a while, and this album is already becoming one of our favorite releases by MICO. We can see two different angles for ‘Do it all again.’ The first is going back to that one person you can’t seem to quit, even when they’ve proven they aren’t good for you. The second is not wanting to change anything about the decisions you’ve made, even the ones you know will end up hurting you. It’s this kind of emotional turmoil that sticks with you after every listen.

Ayra Starr – ‘Tornado’
The next new release is Ayra Starr‘s seductive new song, ‘Tornado.’ With a beat we can’t help but dance to and a chorus we can’t get out of our heads, ‘Tornado’ is the perfect party song. We can already hear it soundtracking our summer. Every vacation we take and every beach we drive to will have this song playing in the background somewhere. Ayra Starr is set to release her third studio album, Starrgirl, on August 14. And while we can only hope for more pre-release songs, we’re content to replay ‘Tornado’ until then.

David Archuleta – Love For Free
This summer is for keeping it real, and David Archuleta‘s new single, Love For Free, is a much-needed reminder. He sings about knowing your worth in the title track, ‘Love For Free.’ With an upbeat instrumental and lyrics that hit too close to home, this song is as real as it gets! David Archuleta also blesses us with another track: ‘Better Than You.’ It’s a little more lowkey with lyrics about someone special, someone who can’t be beat. You can’t help but compare everyone else to them, but you know that that time has passed.

PSYCHIC FEVER – ‘Pink Lemonade’
Wrapping up our list of new releases is PSYCHIC FEVER‘s new single, ‘Pink Lemonade.’ They’re preparing to release their second studio album, DIFFERENT, on July 10. And we’re sat for it already! ‘Pink Lemonade’ is about wanting to walk away from someone while also feeling dependent on them. It’s a universal theme that perfectly describes the sweet-and-sour qualities of pink lemonade. PSYCHIC FEVER has been blowing us away since their debut, and we can’t wait for the journey they’ll take us on with this new album.
