Can you believe it’s been 23 years since the musical birth of Busted? An iconic British pop punk band, Busted can truly be attributed to the first bands of many that shaped our music tastes to this day. Now Charlie, Matt, and James are gearing up for their new compilation album Greatest Hits 2.0, which consists of many of the hit singles and fan favorites.
Releasing on September 15th, Greatest Hits 2.0 is made up of newly recorded versions of all the biggest hits by Busted, with the deluxe version also offering a collection of previously unreleased dream collaborations with special guests, including the likes of McFly, James Arthur, You Me At Six, The Vamps, Bowling For Soup, Dashboard Confessional, Deaf Havana, Wheatus, and the Jonas Brothers; who are featuring on a fresh new take of the iconic hit single ‘Year 3000,’ which was made popular stateside by the brothers. The collaboration between the two bands has been something that fans have wanted for decades and once had a glimpse of during the Jonas Brothers’ set at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball in 2019, where they invited Busted on stage in a surprise performance of the global hit. Now, at long last, the sextet has chosen to release the collaboration version, and we are so thrilled! And if waiting until September was proving to be difficult for you, then worry not, as the collab is already out to soundtrack the ending of your summer:
Speaking about the much-anticipated collab, Busted said in a press release: “Year 3000 has been such a big part of the Busted journey for the last 20 years. The love that this song has just keeps growing, with the fans that were with us from the beginning and now a new generation. We were thrilled when the Jonas Brothers gave it a whole new lease of life over in the states back in 2006, so we are excited to share this new 2.0 version with them in 2023!”
