After three years without new music, Holly Macve is back with a new EP named Time Is Forever. The five tracks present in the EP are amazing and have one common denominator: they’re all about time in one way or another, which really helps tie the whole thing together.
The title track, ‘Time Is Forever,’ takes full advantage of Holly’s heavenly voice to talk about the passage of time itself. In the lyrics, she reflects on how the world keeps moving forward no matter how much we’d like for it to stop or go back. And speaking of lyrics, can we just say we love how the song starts with “Life, it comes, life, it goes” and ends with “This time, it’s forever?” Absolute poetry!
Another track that deserves the spotlight in this article is ‘Suburban House,’ Holly Macve’s collab with Lana Del Rey. The song seems like it was written from the perspective of a woman with seemingly the perfect life in her suburban house, but who’s really longing for something else. Someone else, maybe. And Holly and Lana’s voices complement each other perfectly to tell this story.
You think this was all we had to say? Of course not! Holly also has few live shows coming up. She has a solo date coming up on February 20 at The Lower Third, in London. You can get your tickets here. After that she’ll be supporting Matt Maltese on his European tour. During that period, she’ll be present at the following shows:
- February 24 – La Maroquinerie, Paris, France
- February 25 – Rotonde Museum, Brussels, Belgium
- February 27 – Melkweg Max, Amsterdam, Netherlands
- February 28 – Artheater, Cologne, Germany
- February 29 – Frannz Club, Berlin, Germany
