At long last, j-hope has offically made his comeback with HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1, and we are so stoked! The special album coincides with his new six-part Amazon Prime docu-series, HOPE ON THE STREET, that sees the rapper explore the streets of Osaka, Paris, New York, Seoul, and Gwanju as he meets local dancers that inspire him on his journey.
HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1
HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1 is a six-track album that themes around j-hope’s roots and identity of street dance, allowing the listener to feel close to the K-POP icon as he reveals a more in depth look to who he is as an artist. Having had a hands-on approach to the production of the album, j-hope also enlisted some of the best artists to collaborate with him, including fellow BTS member Jungkook, Huh Yunjin of LE SSERAFIM, and the legendary Nile Rodgers to name just a few.
In addition to the album’s release, a music video was released for the track ‘NEURON (with Gaeko, yoonmirae)’ that follows a young boy through city streets through the lens of his camera as he captures the images of people around him going about their own lives. The montage scenes the bustling city landscape and its people depict that, much like neurons, the city’s streets and people intertwined in very complex, intricate ways.
HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1 is the perfect deep dive into j-hope as an artist, showing us who he is at his core and what contributed to who he is today. We absolutely love this album and truly admire the docuseries and what it represents.
