It’s official: the drought is over! ARMYs have something to look forward to again, and it’s all thanks to the one and only Jung Hoseok. BTS’ performance leader celebrated his birthday by announcing a special album and docuseries, HOPE ON THE STREET.

It’s a very familiar title for ARMY, as it’s been the name of j-hope’s dance content throughout the years. Hobi’s roots are deeply embedded in street dance, and HOPE ON THE STREET is going to showcase that more than ever before. This release has been hugely anticipated since j-hope and SUGA hinted at it on Suchwita, so it’s no surprise that we have lots of thoughts, and hopes, on what this album and show might look like!

HOPE ON THE STREET The Docuseries

We all know how much street dance means to j-hope, having gotten his start in a crew before a career as an idol was even on his radar. So, a series deep-diving into his love of the art form? All our dreams are coming true!

HOPE ON THE STREET will be set across five cities that all have a rich history with dance. Osaka, New York City, Paris, Seoul, and most excitingly, j-hope’s hometown of Gwangju. All five places have ties to Hobi, and he’ll meet with inspiring dancers throughout his journey. Hobi basically is dance – you cannot untie the two, so we absolutely cannot wait to see this exploration of art, cities, and j-hope’s identity.

There are a couple of teasers on the way, but here are the release dates you absolutely need to clear your calendar for:

HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1

In news that will surprise no one: ARMY continues to be one of the most eagle-eyed fandoms out there. On some of the previews, you can make out what appears to be a very blurred tracklist, and ARMY has some thoughts. Nile Rodgers? A music icon. HUH YUNJIN of LE SSERAFIM? We need it, and bonus points from us if she’s involved in the New York episode, too. Jungkook?!?! We know they’ve been in a band for a decade but we need this collaboration, ok?

To put it simply, we need it to be March 29th already.

Sonically, BIGHIT has said (or perhaps more accurately, warned us) that the six-track album will contain multitudes, with a wide range of genres and sounds explored. Considering this is the man who has given us ‘Arson,’ ‘Chicken Noodle Soup,’ and ‘Blue Side,’ the sky truly is the limit.
