Blackpink‘s first full-length album The Album is breaking records and we love seeing it happen! We are, as most of you probably are, totally obsessed with the girl group’s first LP and cannot get enough. ‘Lovesick Girls’ has been on replay! Therefore, we are really enjoying and celebrating the records this album is achieving. They are a true testament to the girls’ years of hard work.
The numbers…
The Album debuted at No. 2 on Billboard Hot 200, which hasn’t been done by an all-female group in the past 12 years, which makes this the biggest debut yet. This is all thanks to the girls’ hard work and Blinks smashing the pre-order and first-week sales. These sales were the highest for any KPOP group’s debut album in all of history! Can you believe this? Blinks deserve a pat on the back if you ask us!
The numbers this debut LP is doing just prove how big of a group Blackpink is on a global scale and their fandom is incredible for making this happen. Blinks had to wait longer than most fans for the female quartet’s first studio album and the wait sure was worth it!
Not only has The Album, as a whole, achieved big things but also the two pre-release singles ‘How You Like That‘ and ‘Ice Cream‘ keep showing us how powerful Blackpink is. ‘Ice Cream‘ debuted at No. 13 on Billboard Hot 100 in August, emerging as the group’s first single to crack the chart’s top 20. However, the second single ‘How You Like That’ was named Song of Summer at the 2020 MTV VMAs. Honestly, is there anything these four talented girls can’t achieve?

We, here at The Honey Pop, are obsessed with Lisa, Rosé, Jennie, and Jisoo, and so we cannot wait for October 14th when their Netflix documentary Light Up The Sky is released. Judging from the docu’s trailer there will be tears and hardship but also the girls’ happy moments. We are tuning in and binging it, that’s for sure.
