Tell us a little about yourself!
I am Elizabeth Leslie, a queer, non-binary composer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer from small-town Nova Scotia. In 2008, I moved to Montréal after dropping out of architecture school in Vancouver. There, I joined several Indie Rock bands as a bassist, guitarist, and drummer, and fronted an electro-pop group with the French electro duo, françoise. Shortly after, I started working as Chromeo’s assistant, where I learned about vintage synths, the seedy music industry, drum programming, and life on tour. Since then, I have decided to go solo as an electronic producer. I am a huge lover of remixes and dance music, which is why 2 out of my 3 EPs are Remix EPs. As a production manager and editor on blockbuster and Oscar-nominated films, I also direct and edit all my own music videos. Currently, I am working on new music with a full-length album on the horizon.

If you could live in any era for music for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?
1990s. It had so much soul and angst, but also diversity. It saw the rise of rap/hip-hop, grunge, and techno. The emotionality was so raw back then, not like it is now.
