Yungblud. He’s a figure that divides the punk scene as much as marmite divides society. Yet his action-packed show in Edinburgh showed more unity in one space than we’ve seen in years. We laughed, we cried, and we moshed. Do we wish we could go back and do it all again? Yes. But don’t stress honey, we’re here with all the live shots you could want so we can relive it together!
Dom Harrison has been bouncing around stages up and down the UK since August but you wouldn’t have guessed. The curtain drops and almost immediately he’s jumping with a beaming grin and we beam right back at him. The heavy-hitting bass lines of ‘Strawberry Lipstick’ are the perfect thundering rhythm that echoes the room’s collective beating heart.
Other bangers included fan-favorite ‘Parents’, ‘I Love You, Will You Marry Me’, ‘mars,’ and the powerful ‘Machine Gun (F**K the NRA).’
The most beautiful thing about YUNGBLUD is his unapologetic YUNGBLUD-ness. We can’t quite describe it but if you’ve ever been to one of his shows then you’ll know what we mean. His concerts are solely about human connection in all of its forms. From high adrenaline mosh pits to the room in the venue created as a ‘quiet space’ for those with anxiety – he’s an artist that just cares. Here at THP, we couldn’t ask for more.
