It’s a well-known fact that Demi Lovato is a legendary vocalist but recently they took it to the next level with a live Vevo performance of ‘EAT ME’ featuring Royal & the Serpent. The collaboration seems so effortless. It’s serving vocals, it’s serving looks, it’s serving serious rock energy.
It really feels like Demi has hit their stride with their latest album HOLY FVCK. The genre shift and the authenticity that it radiates feels like Demi has found a musical home. After years of seeing them slay it at Emo Nites, we’re living for every moment of it. Especially if it keeps giving us performances as iconic as this!
Every part of this performance has been an expression of the inner workings of Demi Lovato’s mind. From the striking red and green color combos with the outfits and lighting to the fairly empty set to drive home the vulnerability and honesty of the song and performance, it’s all about channeling the music!
Both Demi and their collaborator Royal & the Serpent absolutely killed this performance. We’re head banging away at our desks right now. Royal & the Serpent will also be heading out on the road for the HOLY FVCK tour so we hope they can accept this as our official plea for them to perform ‘EAT ME’ together!
We seriously cannot wait for Demi Lovato’s tour so we can hear this for ourselves! Every vocal performance from this era so far has just been so incredible. Thank goodness the tour is right around the corner! Not only are we going to get some sick performances of songs from HOLY FVCK but we’re also going to get reimagined rock versions of her old singles. We’ve literally had dreams where this happens.
