Fall Out Boy’s album, Save Rock and Roll is arguably the best album of 2013. And we will die on this hill. We’ve already professed our love for quite a few songs off of this album. But let’s take a deeper dive into the lyrics. So here are our five favorite lyrics from the masterpiece that is Save Rock and Roll.
‘Alone Together’
“My heart is like a stallion,
they love it more when it’s broken”
Fall Out Boy is known for being incredibly poetic with their similes and metaphors. So this is why it made our list. This lyric is sad, but there is unfortunately some truth behind it. Far too many people say that their albums pre-Infinity On High were better due to the sadder lyrics. While we love those albums, we’re happy to see their lyrics become happier over time.
‘Just One Yesterday’
“Anything you say
can and will be held against you,
so only say my name”
It may take you a second to get it, but once you do. Wow. Even after all this time, we still can’t get over how smooth this lyric is. We’re taking notes 📝
‘The Mighty Fall’
“Your crooked love is just a pyramid scheme”
This one is extremely eye-opening. because unfortunately, it can be true. Some relationships are extremely toxic. You can give and give until there’s nothing left.
‘Miss Missing You’
“I will sing to you every day,
if it will take away the pain”
This lyric hits hard. There’s a few different ways this can be interpreted. This could be about someone they love, but it could also be a message to fans. While any time is a good time to listen to Fall Out Boy, they do have some extremely comforting songs to listen to when you’re sad. Both new and old.
‘Save Rock And Roll’
“You are what you love,
not who loves you”
