Songs We Can’t Wait To Scream Our Hearts Out To

As the year progresses and summer grows closer, that means it’s time for one thing – tours and with tours comes back seeing our favourite songs and screaming our hearts out to some of our favourite lyrics. That being said, it’s no secret that some songs have lyrics that are more scream-worthy than others… I mean we aren’t going to scream our heads off to the most heart-wrenching ballad. That being said, here is a list of some songs we are beyond excited to see on tour this summer and that we want to scream the lyrics to live.

“What would you trade the pain for? / I’m not sure / I used to be a real go-getter / I used to think it would all get better” from ‘So Much (For) Stardust’ by Fall Out Boy

There are a lot of lyrics that Fall Out Boy has penned over the years that are perfect for screaming at the top of your lungs, but with the band returning with a masterpiece album and going on tour to support said masterpiece, we knew that we had to pick a new song. With this specific ‘So Long (For) Stardust’ lyric, there is something so heart-wrenching and hopeless yet simultaneously hopeful that the baby emos and elder emos in Fall Out Boy’s specific demographic can connect to. Even just scream-singing the line alone in our bedroom is cathartic, so we can’t begin to imagine the release that will come with singing this song with our thousands of closest friends who truly understand the lyrics.

“So you think you can stop me and spit in my eye? / So you think you can love me and leave me to die?” from ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is one of those classic songs that have the parts that get a whole crowd headbanging, singing, and dancing, regardless of if you’re just sitting in your car or if you’re actually at a concert. The bridge, though, in the original version sung by Freddie Mercury, has so much raw emotion that we need to scream it out with Adam Lambert singing along. These specific lyrics are also ones that can be deeply personal, as almost all of us will have someone that makes us feel like how the lyrics say. Talking about your problems can be scary, but screaming your heart out to lyrics is easy and free.

“And I know, I may end up failing too / But I know, you were just like me / With someone disappointed in you” from ‘Numb’ by Linkin Park

If you want to feel old, just know that ‘Numb’ is turning 20 this year. Now that we have that out of the way, the great thing about this song is that even 20 years later, it still has lyrics that are incredibly relatable and that we are ready to scream our hearts out to. We all have those moments where we are trying our hardest for someone, but we are afraid of disappointing them. With these lyrics, we know screaming them out will be a release needed by many of us, and especially while celebrating 20 years of relatability, it’ll be something we all need.

“Got my invitation to eternal damnation / Get in line, b*tch, pass the wine, we’re going straight to hell” from ‘This Hell’ by Rina Sawayama

For a song about religious persecution towards the LGBTQ+ community, the entire song is pretty scream-worthy. There’s just something about this line where we all want to get up and embrace the fact that people think we may be going to Hell, but it’ll sure be a party when we get there. Not only that, though, but the song is just fun to sing. With the Shania Twain sample at the beginning and its overall danceability, we know that this song live is going to be both fun and a good release of pent-up frustrations towards the state of the world right now.

“Don’t you ever tame your demons / But always keep ’em on a leash” from ‘Arsonist’s Lullaby’ by Hozier

While Hozier doesn’t have the most traditionally scream-worthy lyrics, there’s something about yelling out the line “Don’t you ever tame your demons / But always keep ’em on a leash” that is just so appealing to us that we need to do it at a concert. The line has many interpretations that we love, but a personal favorite is that your demons are a part of you, and they’re important to control, but you don’t need to get rid of them completely, as that would be getting rid of a part of yourself.

“A to the G to the U to the S-T-D” from ‘Agust D’ by Agust D

If you’re a member of the BTS ARMY and you haven’t heard about SUGA’s solo tour that will feature Agust D songs, then where have you been? Ever since the original Agust D mixtape got put back on Spotify, we have been playing this song on loop, and we just know that the waving of lightsticks coupled with the ability to finally yell out some of our favorite lyrics to Agust D on his first ever solo tour is going to be an experience we will never forget. Couple that with the power behind the line’s original delivery, with the energy of “this is who I am, and you won’t ever forget,” is something we want to experience.
