We’re Shutting Up Our Inner Critic With Renee Rapp’s ‘Talk Too Much’

She’s on a hot streak with fire releases, and Renee Rapp isn’t going to let up any time soon! We know you’re all still recovering and appreciating ‘Snow Angel’ in all her glory. But Miss. Rapp is not going to stop her reign of “Hot-Ex-Wife” behavior for anyone. And what’s a more “hot-ex-wife-slay” move than dropping another banger when your fans are still losing it over the first one? ‘Talk Too Much’ is just as captivating and all incapsulating as we’ve come to expect from her. We see you, Renee, and we’re so ready to add kindle to your fire!

When we say we can’t wait to get our hands on Snow Angel, we mean it with every fiber of our beings. Not only was this album produced and written with our resident bestie, Alexander 23, but Renee gets so personal on this record. ‘Talk Too Much’ is a self-reflecting track fueled by her need to shut down her inner and outer critic. The song depicts her awareness of the way she talks herself in, but more commonly out, of situations she doesn’t mean to. It’s as if you’re watching the conversation go down while listening to the track, and you’re ready to scream “Shut the f**k up!!” with Renee right before the song ends.

Feelings Simply Aren’t Optional

Renee also spoke to Zane Lowe about the album, track, and everything in between. We love Zane Lowe and the way he asks the right questions to make artists feel safe. It also makes us feel like we’re sitting right there in the studio with them! Renee talked about a lot of things, one being what it’s like making music compared to acting. We always wonder how artists of many trades look at these things. So it’s safe to say our ears perked up!

I think the easier part for me is when I’m doing stuff on stage or screen, I at least trust that the material is not mine. I think with songs I become so much more territorial and I’ve been really afraid of that since the beginning, especially when it comes to writing. It’s easier to trust on stage and screen because you have to. You literally don’t have an option. And it’s great when you’re working with amazing people who you do trust.
