What’s New This Week: Catie Turner, Niall Horan, and More!

It’s that time of the week again! We are here to improve your playlists with our new music round-up! We’ve got one of our most stacked lists in a while, so you guys are in for a treat! We have everything from Niall Horan to Catie Turner to Magnolia Park! So grab some headphones or a speaker, and listen along!

Let’s jump in!

Magnolia Park – Halloween Mixtape II

We are kicking off this week with a bang! Magnolia Park is back with a new mixtape, and we are going to go on record saying it’s the group’s best work yet! Every track on Halloween Mixtape II is a masterpiece and just turned us into even bigger Magnolia Park stans if that is even possible.

Our favorite track is ‘Candles.’

Thomas Day – Love Me For Another Day

It’s here! As day one Thomas Day fans, we have been waiting for this one! Thomas Day’s debut album is here! The album is ten tracks long and is a masterclass in pop music! We have been saying that Thomas Day is one to watch and is going to make his mark on the pop music world, and that couldn’t be more true than it is right now, with this debut project just coming out.

Our favorite track has to be ‘You Don’t Belong To Me.’

Niall Horan – ‘You Could Start A Cult’ (ft. Lizzy McAlpine)

Not even in our wildest dreams could we have thought up this collaboration! Now that we think of it, though, this is the perfect track to add a voice like Lizzy McAlpine on; it’s the perfect blend of folk-pop that Lizzy often dabbles in. (Like in her recent collaboration with Noah Kahan) Niall has somehow made one of our favorite tracks off of The Show even better, and we will be jamming to this track forevermore.

Emily James – ‘Lost Cause’ & ‘Uncalled For’

We’ve got a two-song bundle from Emily James this week! ‘Lost Cause’ and ‘Uncalled For’ are two tracks that we genuinely think could turn anyone into Emily James fans. Both of these songs show such vulnerability and awareness of emotions and how Emily goes about processing them. When we see this kind of expression in music, we automatically know that this is an artist that we want to support for the long haul!

Lydia Luce – Florida Girl

Wow, Florida Girl truly is one of most honest, introspective bodies of work we’ve heard in a long time. You can really tell that with each track, Lydia is truly taking a look in the mirror and letting out her deepest emotions, her deepest struggles, and doing so with the soft-pop-indie-dreamlike backing music. This is a perfect record. Truly no notes.

The title track, ‘Florida Girl,’ is our current favorite, but we have a feeling that will be ever-changing.

Valencia Grace – ‘Roses’

‘Roses,’ by rising artist Valencia Rose, is our first look at her upcoming EP, and we just have to say: if this is even a sliver of what’s in store, this project is about to blow us away! The Jazz influence seems very apparent in this track, and that jazz-infused pop is something we always gravitate towards. Valencia Rose is one to watch!

Elle Darlington – ‘Wish You Would’

Talk about making a splash with your debut single! ‘Wish You Would’ is exactly how you break into pop music, with an incredible chorus and backing track that makes you want to dance all over whatever room you’re in; it’s simply a good time!

We The Kings – ‘Alien’

Listen, we are emo kids just like you, and we were running around middle school screaming the lyrics to ‘Check Yes Juliet’ and watching Charles Trippy’s YouTube channel religiously. So obviously, we are huge We The Kings fans! For as long as we have been listening to the band, we feel qualified to say this, ‘Alien’ feels like a rebirth.

We feel like we are entering an era of We The Kings 2.0, and we couldn’t be more ready to go along on this journey!

Catie Turner – Comedy & Tragedy: Act 2

If you’ve been a reader for a while, then you would know all about The Honey Pop x Catie Turner lore! We have been supporting Catie for years and just couldn’t be more in awe of her songwriting ability and her relatability in her music. This new EP, Comedy & Tragedy: Act II, is the best example of those two things we just mentioned, along with such incredible vocal growth. Each of these tracks feels like a song that could soundtrack our lives, and that right there is the beauty of Catie Turner.

Our favorite track is ‘I Don’t Know.’
