Alexandra Palace has hosted an array of artists, this time around, it was McFly’s turn! Continuing their tradition of playing the YMCA right before the come on stage, the crowd was buzzing with excitement. Being such a large show, we were anticipating sheer awesomeness. We were not disappointed at all, it was everything we expected and more.
This was their largest show on their Power to Play tour so they packed it full of surprises for us. From Danny jumping into the pit for ‘Red’ to guests such as Rou from Enter Shikari for ‘Corrupted’ & James Bay for ‘Forever’s Not Enough’ and ‘Hold Back The River’! To say we were surprised is an understatement. The crowd absolutely lit up for these guests and gave them a night to remember! Welcoming them to the McFly world with open arms.
With hits spanning across their whole career, this tour has captured their highlights perfectly. So whether you’re a new McFly fan, or one who’s been here for however many years, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Songs like ‘Route 55’, ‘I’m Fine’ and ‘God of Rock and Roll’ were joined by ‘Obviously’ and ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’ to create the perfect setlist.
The crowd were so present for every moment, singing along to every word, dancing their socks off. It was incredible! A lucky fan even got the opportunity to go on stage and play the cowbell for ‘Everybody Knows’. We wish we could relive that night for the rest of our lives. McFly knew how to keep everyone excited too, including confetti and pyrotechnics. They kept us all eagerly wanting more.
