Can we be totally honest with you guys? We’ve dreamed of writing this edition of the Bangtan Bulletin since we started this column. It began as a way to help you, and us, stay connected whilst BTS was away. But now, the first member is back! In June 2024, we celebrated BTS’ 11th anniversary, FESTA, Jin’s return, a new album announcement, and so much more. ARMY has been booked and busy! RM Drops MV For ‘ㅜㅜ (Credit Roll)’
RM’s RPWP is the gift that keeps on giving! ARMY’s June began with yet another music video from Namjoon’s second album. This time, it’s ‘ㅜㅜ (Credit Roll)!’ Choosing this track as the finale of promotions was a stroke of genius, and it’s so in line with RM’s sense of humor – “When the credits roll, will you hang tight?” Duh! Of course, we will! The short clip is the perfect closer to one of Namjoon’s most artistic and creative eras yet.
We’re ‘Never Letting Go’ Of This Song!
Although we were missing our seven on this FESTA season, Jungkook gave us ‘Never Let Go,’ a perfect single to celebrate our favorite time of the year! He told us before enlisting that he had a surprise for us beyond GOLDEN, and he definitely did not disappoint. ‘Never Let Go’ is the most quintessential Jungkook song ever, and every time we listen to it, we just get goosebumps from his loving feelings towards ARMY. BTS has held our hand throughout their entire enlistment, making sure that we’re always having fun with the things they’ve prepared in advance. We can’t wait to have our boys back with us to enjoy a live version of this song in a future FESTA!
The FESTA Gifts Just Keep Coming
Will there ever be an end to how much BTS has spoiled us in FESTA 2024? Well, technically yes. But not yet! As ever, one of our favorite things is when BTS’ team digs up golden moments from the archive and lets them see the light of day. This year we got behind-the-scenes of JiJinJung Radio and the recording of the ‘Skit’ from BE, as well the stage cam of ‘Anpanman’ on TODAY and a new version of the ‘Life Goes On’ music video!
All of these clips feel like such a treasure, but especially that ‘Skit’ recording. Knowing what we know now about BTS’ 2020, the joy they felt over these record-breaking achievements feels all the sweeter. And honestly? Just seeing the seven of them hanging out feels like such a treat!
Plus ‘Anpanman’ on TODAY is one of the prettiest sets we’ve ever seen them perform in, so a fresh perspective on that is never unwelcome! And as for the new version of ‘Life Goes On?’ All we have to say is: watch Jin. He’s just a silly goofy guy. Speaking of…
Jin Is Back!
One of our most awaited countdowns has come to an end. Jin has finally finished his service! Celebrating his freedom has been one of our favorite moments in our purple-blooded livelihoods. We got multiple OT7 photos that still make us tear-eyed, and Jin did the live that we were waiting for. Even Namjoon brought his saxophone to this happy celebration; how could anyone forget about this day?
Jin properly celebrated his return by holding a beautiful event hugging (yes, you read that right) many ARMYs, singing again on a big, gorgeous stage, and trying everything that he hasn’t done since he enlisted, like TikTok challenges and a live edition of Eat Jin. It was a giant party where every fan could have fun with our beloved Seokjin, whether they were seeing him in person or online. Everyone is welcome to feel the warmth of Jin’s love for the fandom! Now that he’s back to doing idol endeavors, Jin has been filming and recording non-stop. What could he be preparing for us?
A Final Look On The D-DAY THE FINAL
If you’re just like us, the live versions of ‘Tony Montana (feat. Jimin)’ and ‘Strange (feat. RM)’ are living in your mind rent-free. The encore dates of the D-DAY TOUR included many surprises, including some of the rest of the group coming up on stage to sing with Yoongi. We got an inside look at how the boys prepared for their performances, as well as that final promise by our beloved musical genius that our seven will be on stage soon. We will always be grateful for this tour. It means so much to ARMYs and Yoongi alike, and we’re so thankful that we could enjoy the masterpieces that SUGA and Agust D have in their discographies.
Jimin Announces MUSE And Drops ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band’
Last but not least, June also blessed us with the news of a new album, and this time it’s from Jimin! He announced his second album MUSE will be released July 19th. The album follows on just over a year since his debut album FACE which earned him Billboard success, including being the first Korean solo artist to hit number one on the HOT 100. with seven songs, including the fan-dedicated song ‘Closer Than This’ released in December, and the pre-release single ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band’ on June 28th featuring LOCO.
The single was accompanied by a gorgeous music video that showed Jimin performing in a beautiful garden that came straight from a fairytale as he connects couples and celebrates love. MUSE‘s tracklist was announced on a retro-style poster of vintage tapes, which may be an indicator of what to expect in terms of the album’s concept. And what’s even more exciting is that we can expect lots of diverse content surrounding the album’s release, and we can hardly wait!
