Just when we thought Xdinary Heroes couldn’t top themselves after the masterpiece that was Troubleshooting, they’re back with their new and most experimental mini-album yet: LIVE and FALL. It’s been months of teasing with the rollout of the Xperiment Project singles, and the full release is finally here. Here’s how Xdinary Heroes pushed their sound even further than we could’ve dreamed of!

The Xperiment Project
The release of LIVE and FALL has been like no other before. To begin this new cycle, Xdinary Heroes came out with four digital singles, each exploring their ever-changing sound differently. The first digital single, ‘Boy Comics,’ was a cheerful yet rock song that showed their youthful side with humor and charisma. ‘LOVE and FEAR,’ on the other hand, served us emo vibes with all its angsty emotions. The third digital single, ‘Save Me,’ was an emotional pop-rock masterpiece that focused on their vocals beautifully, showing vulnerability and hope. Finally, through this project, Xdinary Heroes dipped into the metal, post-hardcore genre with their first collaboration with YB’s Yoon Do Hyun, ‘iNSTEAD!‘
With the release of each single, we got a piece of the puzzle that came to be ‘XH_world_75,’ and it’s finally ours to hear. The intro track for LIVE and FALL is an impressive and luring instrumental track that sets the tone for the entire release. While Xdinary Heroes are incredible vocalists, it is also incredible to see them focusing solely on the instrumental aspect of their music. It was already evident that Xdinary Heroes were all about pushing the boundaries, but these four singles established the four pillars of their sound. They did not hold back, and with such a fantastic rollout, we were sure to have another amazing release on our hands with LIVE and FALL.
LIVE and FALL
Just like Xdinary Heroes explored genres in a way they never had before, the title track is unlike any previous title tracks. While Xdinary Heroes have released ballads before, like ‘Good Enough‘ and ‘until the end of time,’ ‘Night before the end’ is the first one of their ballads to be their title track. ‘Night before the end’ is a vulnerable track full of emotions and heartbreak as they sing in the most gutwrenching yet beautiful way about the inevitable end of a relationship, where they choose it’s better to walk away than to be left behind. Xdinary Heroes know how to write a ballad that will haunt you with a build-up that makes everything hit harder, and that’s exactly what they did. No words can describe all the sentiment ‘Night before the end’ holds.
Along with the title track and their instrumental track, LIVE and FALL gave us two additional and exceptional b-sides. Xdinary Heroes‘ exploration through different genres to create something unique didn’t stop at the digital singles. ‘Feeling Nice’ is so special and unique in how it mixes hard rock influence with crazy vocals to give way for a track overflowing with confidence. Very Overload coded of them. And something similar can be said about the absolute masterpiece, ‘XYMPHONY.’ Nothing can get anyone ready for how amazing this song is. ‘XYMPHONY’ is the perfect song to be the soundtrack to your Halloween with its mixture of classical piano, eccentric and unique vocals, and rock vibes. This track is pure genius. It is intense, yet creepy, and the embodiment in music form of a haunted house. It is too good to be put into words – and have we mentioned the piano already? Because that goes wild.
Xdinary Heroes keep exploring new genres and pushing the limits of their sound and what they can do in the industry. Three years after their debut, there is no denying that they’re bringing something never seen before to the industry. Xdinary Heroes is their own genre, and it’s undoubtedly becoming one of our favorites.
