If you don’t stan ATEEZ already, you still need these 10 songs on your playlist.
ATEEZ is a boy group under KQ Entertainment that debuted almost two years ago. Being a new group, they still have so much to offer, but if we’re being honest, they’ve already proven how amazing they are and how big they’ll become. ATEEZ do not sound or act like they’re just in the second year of their career.
Here are 10 songs by ATEEZ we think you need in your life (and well, your playlist) that will blow you away and will hopefully get you to stan this insanely talented group.
‘Dazzling Light’ (TREASURE EP.FIN: All To Action, 2019)
From their first full-length album released in the second half of 2019, ‘Dazzling Light’ is the song you needed, and you didn’t even know it.
‘Dazzling Light’ is an EDM song that’s full of emotion. You don’t need to understand the totality of the lyrics to understand the feeling they try to communicate. The vocals and the raps will reach your heart. The explosive chorus, along with the lyrics “tell me who you who am I,” will hit you like nothing else before.
The last part of the song is the best for sure. The rap goes back and forth between Mingi and Hongjoong just so they can finally meet at the end of the bridge to open up on a final chorus that has incredible vocals.
This song is just a masterpiece.
‘FEVER’ (ZERO: FEVER Part.1, 2020)
‘FEVER’ is the first proper song (after the intro) in their latest comeback, and even though it has been out for only a month, we already know this will remain one of their best songs.
This song is the opening to this whole other era that ATEEZ is embarking on, the first song of the ZERO series. And it has a somewhat nostalgic feeling to it as it repeats several times “so I gotta let it go.” It’s a perfect song to drive to and just feel free.
While it’s still very true to ATEEZ’s sound, this song shows growth for sure, and it makes us so excited about what they’ll come up with next.
‘Sunrise’ (TREASURE EP.FIN: All To Action, 2019)
Out of their first full-length album, ‘Sunrise’ is not only a song you need to listen to, but it’s also a song you’ll cry to.
This song can help you through tough times like no other song. The lyrics touch on the hardships that life brings, but it reminds us that it’s important to “just keep it up.” The production in this song is outstanding, and one of the reasons it is such a special song along with the emotion that’s put into it.
Being honest, ‘Sunrise’ feels like a hug in a song.
‘Desire’ (TREASURE EP.2: Zero To One, 2019)
This song will surprise you for sure. At first, you might think you’ve got it figured out, but believe us – this song is anything but predictable. Out of only their second EP, ‘Desire’ showcases the multiple abilities and the multiple influences they use for their music.
While the first part of the song is already amazing and has a very catchy tune that’s going to stay stuck in your head – the last part is the real killer here. The explosive rap from Hongjoong in the bridge opens its way to what seems to be a whole other song.
It’s better not to spoil anything: you really need to listen for yourself to live through the whole experience. But being honest – between the vocals, the rap, the production – this song is the hidden gem from ATEEZ.
‘Horizon’ (TREASURE EPILOGUE: Action To Answer, 2020)
With an EP of only four full songs and an outro, ATEEZ made a huge impact with their first release of the year. They tried on different genres of music, and this one is our favorite.
While it still keeps a lot of elements from ATEEZ’s previous music, this one doesn’t sound like anything they’ve done before. ‘Horizon’ is a song with a chorus based on EDM that resembles the chorus of songs like ‘Scream’ by DREAMCATCHER. And this resemblance makes sense as DREAMCATCHER and ATEEZ share two of their main producers.
‘Horizon’ does keep up with ATEEZ’s concept. However, it gave us a whole new take on EDM music – and we loved it.
‘Light’ (TREASURE EP.2: Zero To One, 2019)
‘Light’ stands out from every song by ATEEZ, and that makes it so special.
While this song is only out of their second EP, ATEEZ proved that they could do anything. ‘Light’ is a more jazzy love song that showcases their voices and skills in such a raw way through absolutely beautiful lyrics. The production of the song is very tasteful, and it makes the members’ vocals and raps shine.
‘Light’ is a very beautiful and unmissable addition to their discography.
‘MIST’ (TREASURE EP.FIN: All To Action, 2019)
They really went all out with this song. The production, the lyrics, the vocals, the rap – it’s almost impossible to explain how good this song is. ‘MIST’ is a very emotional song, and again, ATEEZ did a great job of transmitting their feelings. Just like ‘Dazzling Light’ you won’t need the lyrics to understand the pain in their voice and the feeling of the song overall.
And while its being a beautiful and emotional song, it will also stay stuck in your head for hours on end. Believe us, though, you won’t be mad about it.
‘Treasure’ (TREASURE EP.1: All to Zero, 2018)
It’s hard to wrap our minds around the idea that this song was part of their first release ever. ‘Treasure’ is a Kpop masterpiece, as simple as that. It balances wonderfully rap verses full of attitude and perfect pop melodies. You can’t avoid putting this ATEEZ song on your playlist. Something is addicting and surprising about the chemistry between the two rappers, Mingi and Hongjoong, as they rap back and forth. And the chorus will just make you want to listen to this song over and over again.
ATEEZ made a huge entrance into the industry with this song, and it wasn’t even their title track.
‘Utopia’ (TREASURE EP.3: One To All, 2019)
ATEEZ’s third EP was arguably what placed them definitely under the spotlight, and ‘Utopia’ was the opening song of that same EP.
Just like most of the songs in TREASURE EP.3: One To All, ‘Utopia’ has a summer feeling to it, but don’t let it fool you – it goes hard at every season of the year. It’s a fun and energetic song that will get stuck in your head, and you’ll never get tired of it. What’s beautiful about this song is the difference between the feeling of the verse, the emotional piano and vocals in the pre-chorus, and a chorus that’s the definition of explosive. And the closing part of the song is absolutely magnificent. The production of this song is really out of this world.
‘Utopia’ isn’t your typical hype song so let ATEEZ surprise you with this one.
‘Better’ (TREASURE EP. Map To Answer, 2020)
Out of their first Japanese album, ‘Better’ is to date ATEEZ’s only song released originally in Japanese, and it’s such an underrated song from them.
Just like ‘FEVER’, ‘Better’ has a very nostalgic feel to it, but it will bring you a lot of joy and comfort. A definite highlight from this is Jongho’s outstanding high note at the end of the song. Those vocals will make you listen to the song all over again just so that high note hits you in the heart like the first time.
We hope one of these beautiful songs make it into your playlist, and if you don’t stan ATEEZ, what are you waiting for?
If you need more Kpop coverage, you’re in the right place.
