Hello beautiful people from all the world. Welcome to a new series of Passport Playlist, ready to take you into a musical voyage in discover of the artist of the world. We’re highlighting artists who may not have had international or mainstream success to bless your ears with undiscovered music from all across the globe.

Today, we are traveling to the colorful Mexico, home of the iconic singer Juan Gabriel and cradle of several Grammy winners such as Alejandro Fernández, Pepe Aguilar, Maná, Paulina Rubio and many others. Mexico is known for its large amount of musical genres that are a mix of sounds from other countries in Latin America and the world. This are the artist you need to have in your playlist!

Christian Nodal

Representing the Regional Mexican sound, Christian Nodal has taken the hearts of Mexico. After the release of his song ‘Adios Amor’ in 2017, the Latin Grammy winner has taken over the Regional Mexican genre, mostly with the young generations thanks to the honesty and how pure the feelings are shown in the lyrics of his songs. Now, Christian is expanding his musical path to pop Latin and reggaeton with collaborations with other Latin American icons such as Juanes and Camilo.

Danna Paola

After the release of his song ‘Viernes 13’ in 2018, Marco Menchaca changed the way relationships express their feelings. The love song became a sensation in teenagers, creating a tendency of dedicating this song when you are in love… and crying to it if you are single. In 2019, Marcos Menchaca released his two part album called Cada Vez Más < : ), taking a huge step into the music industry in Mexico.

Los Claxons

After 15 years of releasing their first album Sin Ganga, the band keeps showing their talent, demonstrating that the new music won’t take away the retro essence of the early 2000s music. They have the perfect beat for a calm afternoon with your mates.

With 7 Grammy Awards, the American-Mexican singer has used her voice to speak up about the problems the women in Mexico is facing, creating that the power of her voice gets stronger, been an inspiration for younger generations.
