Rising Star Roundup: quinnie, kenzie, Alex Warren, + More!

Welcome back to Rising Star Roundup, The Honey POP’s way of sharing our favorite rising stars with our favorite stans! Every artist on this list was hand-picked because they’re just that iconic. We happen to have pretty good taste. It is our job, after all! Let’s jump right into this week’s Rising Star Roundup! The word of the day is ‘iconic,’ so let’s see how many times we say it when describing these artists.

Jenna Raine

You want us to stop including Jenna Raine? Never. We will stop including this amazing angel when she finally gets the recognition that she has earned. Straight from Dallas, Texas, Jenna has stolen our hearts and the top spot in our Spotify Wrapped! Miss Raine is killing it, and we’re absolutely in awe!

After releasing ‘Stupid Cupid’ in March, Jenna did not let the grind stop! On May 5th, she blessed us with her newest EP, Big Dumb Heart, Chapter 1, and when we talk about it, you know it’s good! She blessed us with 4 new songs, and of course she included ‘Stupid Cupid!’ Jenna, keep killing it, we’re loving watching you shine!

Make sure you check out the video below to listen to ‘Stupid Cupid,’ and we know it’ll break Jenna’s Big Dumb Heart if you don’t head over to wherever you stream music and give her EP a listen!

Alex Warren

If you hear the name Alex Warren and think to yourself, “Wow! That name sounds so familiar,” it’s because this next artist is was in the public eye long before gifting us with his music! You may know him from the TikTok content house, The Hype House, and since then, his talent and love for music have only grown!

His songs tug at our heartstrings as he tells us the story of losing his parents in songs like ‘One More I Love You’ and our personal favorite, ‘Chasing Shadows,’ (the acoustic version is definitely one of the best acoustics ever!) What’s next for this rising artist and his beautiful voice? On June 8th, Alex will be releasing ‘Give You Love,’ and we’re beyond ready to give it all of our love!

In anticipation for ‘Give You Love’ and all of Alex’s future songs, make sure to listen to ‘Chasing Shadows (Acoustic),’ linked below! And come June 8th, you better bee one of the first people to listen to his newest release! (Let’s bee honest, would it really be a Rising Star Roundup if we didn’t make a bee pun?)

kenzie

Miss Mackenzie Ziegler is no stranger to our love, starting her career so long ago as a beautiful young dancer. Now, kenzie is shining her light on the music industry, and we couldn’t be more proud! This not-so-little pop star knows her way around a song!

This rising artist started performing years ago with songs like ‘Day & Night’ and ‘Breathe,’ and now, in 2023, kenzie has released ‘paper,’ both the original and the stripped version, and ‘sickly sweet!’ Her talent is undeniable, and we’re excited to witness her further success!

Run, don’t walk, to the link we’ve added below and stream ‘sickly sweet,’ we’ll be waiting for your input!

quinnie

Picture this: it’s 2010, and you’re watching the 3rd act breakup of your favorite romcom. The love interest mutters a quiet, “i’m done,” before disappearing into the darkness, leaving the main character to wallow in her suffering, with ‘fade (flounder bonus track)’ playing in the background. Let’s go back in time, call up Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, and make this happen!

Quinnie, a 21-year-old born superstar, has been killing the game since 2019, when she first decided to share her gift with us! Her songs ‘touch tank’ and ‘man’ have stunned fangirls everywhere, and we can’t wait for her to release the deluxe version of her debut album, flounder. This summer is bound to be a great one!

If you don’t want us to fade away, make sure you’re going full speed to listen to ‘fade (flounder bonus track),’ which we linked below for your viewing pleasure!

Lauren Spencer Smith

We’ve said it once, we’ve said it twice, and we’ll say it a million times: you guys need to be listening to Lauren Spencer Smith! If you learn one thing from Rising Star Roundup, let it be that these artists deserve your love! This Vancouver native has given us both covers and her own solo music, and she doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon!

With her recent release ‘That Part’ giving us that warm fuzzy feeling of love and previous releases like ‘Flowers’ making us feel that first heartbreak all over again, it’s safe to say that her debut album Mirror, is going to have us feeling all the emotions! (Did we forget to mention that Lauren Spencer Smith is releasing her debut album, Mirror, on July 14th? Our bad..)

Get your favorite cuddle buddy, it could be your dog, your partner, or even your favorite picture of Calum Hood, and listen to ‘That Part,’ linked down below because we love you that much! Let’s feel the love and get ready for Mirror together!

King Falcon

First things first, can we talk about how iconic the name King Falcon is? While it isn’t the reason they made it onto Rising Star Roundup, it definitely got them some brownie points! This pop-punk band has taken us all the way back to the 2010s when pop-punk stans thrive and shine. (That didn’t make any sense, did it?)

‘Ready Set Go,’ which is the newest of the band’s music, is the perfect summer song for the emos at heart. (Us. It’s the perfect summer song for us.) It has all the components we look for in a great song: a killer bridge, amazing vocals, and the instrumental to match. We’re obsessed with all things King Falcon, and you should be too. No, seriously, you should be obsessed with them! It’s literally the whole point of Rising Star Roundup. Otherwise, we’re just strange fangirls talking to ourselves, and that would be weird.

We’ve linked King Falcon’s newest track below for you to listen to, let’s see who gets there fastest. Ready, set, go! (See what we did there?) All terrible puns aside, being a King Falcon fan is the only real way to live.

To Wrap Things Up!

If you looked up Rising Star Roundup in the dictionary, we can tell you exactly what it would say, except we’re not cool enough to be in the dictionary. It would read: a series of articles whose only goal is to promote the success of rising artists. Not to sound sappy or whatever, but our entire reasoning for this series is that these artists deserve to shine. Every day they wake up and decide to make music that they love, and the least the rest of us could do is give them a chance. They’re worth it.

Have you listened to any of the artists in today’s Rising Star Roundup? Which of these artists will you be taking into your stan list? (It’s okay, you can say all of them.) Which upcoming release are you most excited about? Do you have any recommendations for our next installment? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. You can also join us over on Discord, where we have fun events and talk all things pop culture!
