We Feel Like We’re On Mars With Boston Flowers’ New Song ‘Man on Mars’

Boston Flowers is a duo based in Brooklyn, NY. The band’s name was inspired by Austin Powers (how iconic) and mirrors that essence of nostalgia in their debut single. With Brad Flowers covering vocals, lead and rhythm guitar, and the bass, and CJ Kostaras on drums, the pair create dreamy indie-pop tinged with a bit of rock. Their debut single landed on our desk, and we just knew our honeybees would eat this up.

‘Man on Mars’ debuted on the 15th, introducing the world to Boston Flowers. Check out the single below, and keep reading to hear all our thoughts about the new duo.

‘Man On Mars’

Boston Flowers’ blend of rock oozes throughout the guitar riffs and chords, but Flowers’s vocals are so indie pop (it’s impressive). With the occasional sparkly guitar chord, the song is just an excellent pop-rock song. Flowers channel early 2000s rock vocals in the chorus, with a very indie, almost slurred pronunciation in the verses. We love the variation in styles. There’s a sense of nostalgia about this song that hits all the right notes.

We’re so unbelievably excited about what Boston Flowers have offered already, and we think they will go far. They have that addictive indie-pop sound that has become incredibly popular in the last few years, but balance that sound with a rock edge, and it just works so well. We really hope to see more of Boston Flowers!
