When it comes to what we’ll be doing on January 12th, you can catch us wearing pink, sat in a theater, and ready to watch Mean Girls on the big screen. Not only is this movie musical bringing back some of our iconic faves from Broadway, like Reneé Rapp – but even Tina Fey is returning. We’re also getting some of our other favorite actors as well! Christopher Briney from The Summer I Turned Pretty as Aaron Samuels and even our beloved Jenna Fischer is starring in the film!
To say that this movie has been in hot demand for years now would be the understatement of the century. This musical took over the entire Broadway world with its debut, and rightfully so. Some musical lovers might tell you that movie adaptations are horrible and should never be allowed. To those people, we say – why do you hate joy?
Okay, So Maybe We’re Word Vomiting!
Even the musical soundtrack is being revamped for the movie adaptation. The film’s composer, Jeff Richmond, said that they wanted it to sound like a Broadway score in all the best ways. But with a fresh take added to match the energy of the movie musical. Now, we might know for sure what the film aesthetic is, but we know it’s fetch, iconic, and gruel. The energy that Reneé is serving is as Regina George already giving us everything. We don’t need much more to know that this is going to be our new obsession.
