Bang Yedam And aespa’s Winter Are ‘Officially Cool’

Every once in a while, a collaboration that we could only dream about comes true. And today is one of those days! Bang Yedam and aespa’s Winter, aka some of the absolute best vocalists in K-Pop, have come together in ‘Officially Cool.’ And we’re officially in love with this collab!

Yedam made his solo debut in November of last year, and his mini-album, ONLY ONE, has been on repeat since then. His first release after this debut hit us with a bang as he’s collaborating with aespa‘s Winter. Throughout the years, these two have proven to have some of the most powerful and beautiful voices in the industry. So to see them come together in ‘Officially Cool’ is a dream we didn’t even know we were allowed to dream.

It would be quite easy for Winter and Yedam to have a sing-off in a ballad, but ‘Officially Cool’ is so much more than that. This smooth track is a fun conversation between two people trying to navigate the aftermath of their break up, wanting to become friends. The aesthetically pleasing music video gives us a colorful and fun story, making ‘Officially Cool’ an even better song.

‘Officially Cool’ is fun and refreshing. And the fact that it isn’t a ballad like some may have expected doesn’t keep them from showing just how amazing they are as vocalists. ‘Officially Cool’ showcases their voices in the most beautiful and subtle way. Both of them have very unique tones that we can recognize everywhere, yet they blend and mix together so perfectly. They harmonize, they give us incredible vocals, they sound as good as ever – and they truly delivered a unique and beautiful collaboration. Their voices together are an absolute match made in heaven. This is a collab for the books.
