JESSIA – ‘The Woman You Are’

We are kicking this week’s new music round-up off with an incredible ode to Mother’s courtesy of JESSIA! JESSIA is an artist who we’ve really been loving lately, (peep our recent interview with her here) and this song pushed us into full fledged being stans. The vulnerability it takes to write a song so close to home is something that we are always looking for in an artist.

Ice Spice – ‘Gimme The Light’

We are Ice Spice super fans around here, that is our girl! So you know we have to show up and support! ‘Gimme A Light’ is officially being added to our summer songs rotation, this song takes the term ‘bop’ to a whole new level. Ice Spice has really proven over the last year that she will be around in this industry, thriving, for a long time.

Kings of Leon – Can We Please Have Fun

EVERYONE REMAIN CALM! We have a brand new Kings Of Leon album and it is all we’re going to be listening to for the next month solid! Kings of Leon has been lending songs to the soundtrack of our lives for a long time now, and their growth while retaining the ability to make something that you instantly know is a Kings of Leon song is unmatched.

‘Nowhere to Run’ is our current favorite track.

Carly Pearce – ‘fault line’

We are slowly inching closer and closer to Carly’s album hummingbird, which will be ours on June 7th, with the final pre-release, ‘fault line.’ Carly Pearce is an artist who has mastered storytelling in only a way someone with country roots can, and has found a balance between delivering what her fans want to see and what she wants to share, while staying honest and growing. It’s a beautiful thing, and is fully on display in ‘fault line.’

James McVey – ‘All The Things’

We have two members of The Vamps making appearances today, but let’s start with James McVey! After putting out a few tracks in 20223, James is back with ‘All The Things.’ ‘All The Things’ is the first track coming at us from his upcoming EP, Letters Home. We have always loved seeing James shine in a group setting, but getting to watch him shine as a solo artist makes us beam with pride. He is an artist you all need to have your eyes on.

Wallows – ‘A Warning’

We are so close to the release of Model, it’s going to be ours to enjoy in a matter of days, and of course, being the kind kings they are, Wallows is giving us one one track from the album to hold over! ‘A Warning’ has officially cemented itself as a front runner for favorite track on the album after hearing each of the pre-released tracks. We are forever convinced Wallows is one of the best bands of all time.

Bradley Simpson – ‘Picasso’

We’ve got yet another track from a member of The Vamps who is establishing himself as an artist outside of the group as well. We covered Bradley‘s debut single, ‘Cry at the Moon,’ and we’re amazed with what a stellar song we were getting right out of the gate. But ‘Picasso,’ Bradley’s second, and newest release, has already gone and shown us that he is just going to keep getting better.

Hozier – ‘Too Sweet’

We have praised ‘Too Sweet‘ multiple times now, and we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! Seeing Hozier get the love he has deserved on every single song since ‘Take Me To Church’ makes us the absolute happiest. This song showcases everything that sets Hozier apart, his vocal ability, the way his music flows, and his lyrics.

The music video for ‘Too Sweet‘ felt perfect, like an ode to performance and to the fans.

Alec Benjamin – 12 Notes

The moment is finally here! After covering each of the pre-released tracks from 12 Notes, it’s finally out in the world for our listening pleasure! We are day one Alec Benjamin fans, and have watched his arts tic growth happen in real time, and we can confidently say, 12 Notes is his best work yet. From the first track to the last this album feels the most intentional, the most expertly crafted. ‘Lead Me To Water’ is currently our go to track.

Valley – ‘When You Know Someone’

Valley is a longtime favorite band here at THP, so getting to round-out a list of our favorite new releases with their newest music is always a treat! One of our favorite things about Valley is that their music almost always puts us in a sun-soaked mindset, we are talking Bleachers ‘I Wanna Get Better’ levels of serotonin instantly hitting us. And of course, ‘When You Know Someone’ fits that bill all the same.
