Soundtrack The Season With Our K-POP Sounds Of Summer Playlist

The weather is getting warmer, the nights are getting lighter, and summer is on the horizon! If you’re like us, music always offers a soundtrack to our lives, and so we just had to make a new seasonal playlist that we’ll be making memories with. Because we are so kind, we’ve decided to share that K-POP summer playlist with you, our lovely honeybees, to enjoy and listen to all summer long. You are so welcome.

‘Magnetic’ – ILLIT

This shimmery debut song from ILLIT sounds like the sun shining on glistening water, like a summer crush, and just an overall fun and playful song that we’ll truly be thriving to all season long. A dreamy pop number, ‘Magnetic,’ will definitely be on repeat throughout the summer season, and we will eat it up every single time!

‘Dynamite (Tropical Mix)’ – BTS

Sometimes remixes get overlooked, but this year, we refuse to let that happen. The ‘Dynamite (Tropical Remix)’ is arguably our favorite remix of BTS‘s biggest song, and it just screams party vibes. Whether at a pool party or a club night, this song is so summery that we couldn’t not include it in our K-POP summer playlist! Catch us busting a move in the sun to this one several times a week. Not to mention, it reminds us of Hobipalooza back in 2022. Oh, the memories!

‘Dance The Night Away’ – TWICE

Taken from their album Summer Nights, it’s no surprise that this TWICE song is a timeless classic for the summer season. This EDM pop bop is sure to get you up and moving with its catchy chorus and infectious beats. We can’t help but imagine listening to this as the sun sets, but the memories keep rolling in. We truly just want to ‘Dance The Night Away!’

‘Glow’ – Big Ocean

Though they debuted in spring, Big Ocean‘s debut single ‘Glow’ is the perfect song for the summer season. The playful track by K-POP’s first hard-of-hearing group truly gives us beachy and ocean vibes, being an instant mood booster from the moment that first note kicks in. This is serotonin in song form, and it just had to take a place on our K-POP summer playlist!

‘How Sweet’ – newjeans

newjeans have us feeling nostalgic for the 90s and early noughties with ‘How Sweet.’ Delving into the Miami Bass sub-genre, we’re definitely getting the old-school vibes revived from this newly released single that feels like a ray of sunlight shining down on us as we frolic through the season. It’s fun, fresh, and seriously sweet!

‘We Lost The Summer’ – Tomorrow X Together

Born out of the despair and turmoil of 2020, ‘We Lost The Summer’ is a passionate TXT b-side that still goes hard four years on. This dancehall track entwines pluck and guitar throughout that truly has us vibing our feelings away. ‘We Lost The Summer’ is a real “crying in the club” track with the juxtaposition of the lyrics and the melody working so well together, it’s unsurprising that we’re still obsessed years later!

‘Midas Touch’ – Kiss Of Life

‘Midas Touch’ is definitely one of the songs that are making an impact on the K-POP scene and we can definitely see it frequenting in our summer soundtrack. Embodying the currently popular hip-hop funk trend reminiscent of the early 2000s, this high-energy track from Kiss Of Life reminds us of the powerful pop queens such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera and we cannot get enough!

‘View’ – SHINee

‘View’ is truly a K-POP classic and one that wins the hearts of fans across all generations. SHINee deliver a smooth and irresistible single with this deep house number. With its captivating chorus and electro beats, ‘View’ is adrenaline-inducing and has us thinking about the thrills of the summer season! We listen to it every summer without fail and this year is no exception.

‘IT’z SUMMER’ -ITZY

Pulled from their debut EP, we’re still obsessed with ITZY’s ‘IT’z SUMMER’ six years on! Full of synth, clapping beats, and dance vibes, this sprightly number is sure to take over your body rhythm and energize you. It’s impossible not to get moving to this song, even if only slightly. This punchy track feels like the celebratory track announcing you’re done with school or work and the time for fun and making memories has begun.

‘Earth, Wind & Fire’ – BOYNEXTDOOR

Keeping the energies high for the summer is BOYNEXTDOOR‘s ‘Earth, Wind & Fire.’ This upbeat banger is adrenaline-inducing and listening to it we feel like we’re capable of doing anything. Playful and vigorous, this single is a major mood booster and will definitely have us dancing all summer long in the sunshine! Not only is it on our K-POP summer playlist, but it’s also on our heavy rotation; it’s so addictive!

‘Bubble’ – STAYC

Released towards the end of last summer, we truly loved STAYC‘s ‘Bubble’ that we needed a full summer to appreciate it to its fullest, hence why it earns a place on our K-POP summer playlist. This sweet and fresh pop bop is enticing with its repetitive chorus, laser-beam synths, and memorable chants, ‘Bubble’ feels fun and youthful, full of promises of a good time, which we’ll never turn down!

‘The View’ – Stray Kids

How could we not include ‘The View’ on this K-POP summer playlist? Playing this during the summer feels like we are part of the music video along with Stray Kids themselves. This EDM-speared song embellished with clapping beats and breezy rhythm is the epitome of summer. It has us feeling wanderlust and hopeful for a season of memories, hope, and all-round good times.

‘POP’ – Nayeon

TWICE‘s Nayeon truly made a splash with her solo debut. ‘POP!’ is truly a bold and exciting number that captivates every listener, giving you an earworm that you won’t mind so much because it’s just so enjoyable. Fun, flirty, and full of energy, this is such an all-rounder track from Nayeon and perfect for the summer season. POP POP, NAYEON!

‘Blue Summer’ – ATEEZ

Listen; we know it’s a Japanese single, but we just love ATEEZ‘s ‘Blue Summer’ so much, we had to make an exception! Feeling like a breath of fresh air, this comforting song is airy, and refreshing and has us feel like we’re floating with the group’s harmonies lifting us higher and warming our souls. We can’t help but feel lighter and brighter after listening to ‘Blue Summer!’

‘Spicy’ – Aespa

Big on production and bigger on vibes, it’s no wonder Aespa‘s ‘Spicy’ is a fan favorite! ‘Spicy’ is very in-your-face and feels like what the Pussycat Dolls would deliver if they were still thriving in 2024, but thankfully for all K-POP enthusiasts it’s our 4th gen icons who serve up this scorcher of a banger and it really does bring the heat all summer long.

‘WAY 4 LUV’ – PLAVE

We’ve already been loving PLAVE, but it feels like ‘WAY 4 LUV’ may have grabbed the attention of non-PLLI for all the right reasons. Our beloved virtual idol group pulled on our heartstrings with this single, the flowing melodies and charming lyrics take our breath away and have us longing for a beautiful summer romance. Catch us subconsciously swooning as we listen to this fruitful bop over and over!

‘7HEAVEN’ – Purple Kiss

We’ll be honest, we’re still not entirely over the retro disco trend that kickstarted off the decade and Purple Kiss have truly fed us the remains of this genre for us to devour. This funky dance track has us in party mode, encouraging us to strut our stuff and pull out our best moves on the dance floor. ‘7HEAVEN’ was released just shy of summer last year, so you can bet on the fact it rightfully earns a place on our K-POP summer playlist!

‘Candy Sugar Pop’ – Astro

ASTRO truly gives us a sugar rush with ‘Candy Sugar Pop!’ This bouncy bop is a funky dance number that convinces you to shimmy your troubles away. With irresistible rhythms and stellar vocals, the verses flow effortlessly into the chorus and is just pure pop perfection that fits perfectly for the summer season!
