Do you know how many K-Pop comebacks and debuts there are in one year? The amount of artists releasing music, some getting plenty of hype, others a more moderate amount, and some, sadly, even less? We tried rounding up 20 of our favorite 2024 K-Pop songs that we believe deserved more recognition and see if you agree with us. Trust us, with how long the list of options was, we had it hard, and while we couldn’t include every single one, we tried our best. Maybe you know some of these, maybe your new favorites are on this list. We strongly believe it is never too late to realize how good a song is.
ONE PACT – ‘FXX OFF’
We are starting strong! Well, all of these would be a strong start, but you know what we mean. ONE PACT debuted only in late 2023, but they have won their permanent spot in our hearts and playlists. We had trouble deciding which of their two comeback title tracks to pick for this, as we love them both, but here’s the one we ended up going with. ‘FXX OFF‘ is an intense piece that shows the members’ more fierce presence. Loving all the confidence we feel from this song and we can’t recommend the group enough. We love how ONE PACT established a sound from the beginning and are bringing something entirely different to the table with each release. It’s also the messages they incorporate into their music that we can’t help but love.

Jay Chang – ‘LaSalle Ave’
This list simply wouldn’t be complete without Jay Chang on it. He may have had a busy year with Build Up, releasing music under its winning group B.D.U, and touring, so he was, unfortunately, unable to participate in ONE PACT’s comebacks. However, we were lucky enough to get a new solo from him! We said it before, will say it again: Jay has immense amounts of talent in him, and he’s a must-check-out artist. The all-English track ‘LaSalle Ave‘ truly lets his vocals shine bright and captivate any audience. Think we’re exaggerating? Why don’t you hit the play button?

M.O.N.T – ‘IDGAF’
M.O.N.T‘s ‘IDGAF’ has been charging us all year, and if you happened to miss this rock-infused piece, now’s the perfect time to check it out. We’re serving it on a silver platter for you; how can you resist? It’s fun, it’s catchy, and it’s here to help you break free from the shackles of your everyday problems. If you need encouragement to take control of your life, this is the song for you.

Lovelyz’s Ryu Sujeong – ‘Fallen Angel’ (feat. XYLØ)
We can’t yell enough how much we love Sujeong’s ‘Fallen Angel’ feat. XYLØ. The whole 2ROX project had us in shambles in all the good ways. ‘Fallen Angel’ brings a darker side of one of our favorite Lovelyz girlies, and of course, we’d want to show it off. Her collab with XYLØ gave us iconic songs, and ‘Fallen Angel’ was one we were very obsessed with. Actually, we still are. We have fallen into the temptation of this track, and we don’t want to get out.

WAKER – ‘ATLANTIS’
Rookie group on the horizon! WAKER‘s ‘ATLANTIS’ is a bright track that won our hearts as soon as it came out. And we’ve been looking into the group’s releases ever since. When a song captivates us so easily, we want to make sure we share it with as many people as possible. Good music is not to be gated.

AIMERS – ‘Somebody’
AIMERS dropped ‘Somebody‘ in February 2024, and we haven’t been tired of this song since. And if time is an indicator, as well as our countless streams, we won’t get over this bop any time soon, if ever. When we find a song like this, our instinct is to gently direct it to your attention. Fun and addicting, ‘Somebody’ is the perfect pick for a little casual dancing to loosen up and sing as loudly to the lyrics.

n.SSign – ‘Happy &’
We all need a song to pick us up from time to time, and there is no shame in admitting that. n.SSign have the perfect cute little musical pill for that! ‘Happy &’ will help you feel better when you’re down, when your day is not going as you hope, or when you simply want a song to smile over.

ILY:1 – ‘illang(Firework)’
We just had to include a track that gives full-on summer vibes onto this list. They’re usually bright and lively, ready to charge you on the hot sunny days. ILY:1 do a great job with ‘illang(Firework),’ and you don’t even need to wait for it to be summer to enjoy it. They will traverse you through seasons to bring your mind to that starry night where you can clearly see all the fireworks. Did we paint a good picture? Big Ocean – ‘FLOW’
If you aren’t on the Big Ocean train already, we really don’t know what you’re doing. And if you don’t know them yet, they are the first K-Pop group with hearing impairments and have completely conquered our hearts. It was tough to decide which of their songs to put on this list because they just deserve so much love and appreciation. We ended up setting our minds on ‘FLOW,’ a fun dance piece that definitely shows how talented the trio is. The song has a fresh and uplifting feel, and the music video continues to show the members using sign language, which keeps solidifying their influential presence in the music scene.

MIMIIROSE – ‘The flowers swayed’
Appreciating good music is in our blood. And when those songs come with encouraging messages, we know they’re immediately entering our playlists. MIMIIROSE’s ‘The flowers swayed’ is all about overcoming the obstacles life puts in your way and blooming like a beautiful flower despite the strong winds that try to tear it apart. Along with this lovely message, we have the powerful vocals of the girls shining throughout this impressionable piece. Like we said, we stan good music and talent.

ODD YOUTH – ‘THAT’S ME’
While we’re on powerful performances, we have another girl group lined up for your attention. Freshly debuted at the start of November 2024, we think ODD YOUTH might quickly become your new favorite group name. Their debut title track, ‘THAT’S ME,’ gives out confident, female-empowering vibes, and you know we support that with all our hearts. Can you imagine yourselves singing along to this and getting filled with all the right energy to be yourselves? Same here, and the feeling is really great. Can we get a “I love myself all the time”?

The KingDom – ‘Flip that Coin’
We’ve been following The KingDom and their journey for a while now, and we’ve always gotten obsessed with their music. In 2024, the kings came at us with something we did not expect: a brand-new style. ‘Flip that Coin‘ may not have the epic sound of previous The KingDom title tracks, but it’s such an equal bop. It hits hard and is absolutely addictive to listen to. We definitely feel that this song, and the group in general, deserve more attention. Not to mention their music comes with a packed lore, so for all of those keen on theories and seeing stories unfold, this could be your next discovery.

WHIB – ‘Rush of Joy’

PARK JEUP – ‘Reset’
We have something for the ballad lovers as well. PARK JEUP’s ‘Reset’ starts like your usual emotional slow song but gradually builds to the explosive chorus. PURPLE KISS – ‘ON MY BIKE’
Our bad girlies PURPLE KISS slayed with ‘ON MY BIKE,’ and we wouldn’t forgive ourselves if we didn’t spotlight this here. Absolutely compelling and radiating confidence, we just know you’ll love it. When have we steered you wrong? We love everything about this sound and style, and you just have to hear the ending. It gives you the final charge you need (and the desire to go and replay it again).

DKB – ‘Flirting X’
Just want to say, we’ll forever be obsessed with DKB’s ‘Flirting X.’ Production, vocals, choreo, music video: everything is top. The group embraces and fully nails that rock atmosphere, letting their emotions burst through the song. ‘Flirting X’ will have you singing the lyrics at the top of your lungs, especially during the chorus.

TEMPEST – ‘LIGHTHOUSE’
We’ll always talk about TEMPEST, just give us a reason, and in this case, ‘LIGHTHOUSE’ provides it for us. There’s something about this song (about all of their songs) that draws us in and makes us stay. Now that we think about it, maybe TEMPEST are our ‘LIGHTHOUSE,’ and we’re naturally attracted to their light and talent. That definitely checks out.

DRIPPIN – ‘Beautiful MAZE’
We also can’t miss a chance to talk about our talented boys DRIPPIN. ‘Beautiful MAZE’ is, no doubt, a big favorite of ours this year. And we will gladly carry it to our playlists the following year. We have said this about a bunch of the songs on this list, but we can’t not say it here as well. The ending of ‘Beautiful MAZE’ presents a perfect finale, with a slightly faster beat, emphasizing on the wandering part inside that maze.

LUCY – ‘Villain’
In the world of K-Pop we can’t forget about all the talented K-bands out there. We saved a spot to highlight two of them, with the first being LUCY. We love us some emotional rock band sounds, and ‘Villain‘ offers exactly that. LUCY incredibly depicts the image of constantly being brought down, with the bridge creating an impactful transition into self-acceptance, painting a beautiful ending for this picture.
