It’s about that time again! Welcome back to THP’s monthly K-POP HOTSPOT, AKA your go-to for all things comebacks and debuts in the K-Pop world. February flew by so quickly, and we can’t wait to get into all the new releases this month!

Before we get into this month’s comebacks and debuts, let’s take a moment to appreciate some other news and more unknown releases. Our bestie, SHAUN, just released his new single, ‘Easy,’ and you can stream it right here. We are sure this song will be extra easy on our ears! Another release to soothe your ears is probably Gyubin’s ‘Really Like You,’ which you can stream here. We really love finding those hidden gems.
Psst, do you want to have some behind-the-scenes into GI-DLE and their latest full album 2? Minnie just dropped a vlog on the girls’ YouTube channel, this video focuses on how Minnie met and worked with producers on the girls’ song ‘Vision.’ Intrigued? watch it here.
Additionally, we’d like to congratulate one of our favorite groups, SEVENTEEN, for being announced as a winner of IFPI’s Global Album Award with their mini album FML. We loved this album as much as everyone else and can’t believe it is still winning things and reaching milestones for our boys in 2024. Speaking of 2024, you know what’s happening soon? Yup, our mans j-hope is gonna drop a whole documentary on us with a special OST album. Here we were, thinking we’d be running dry until the boys were back from the military. But HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1 is coming March 29th, and we cannot wait.
And lastly, we got you with more tour news! EVNNE are about to embark on their first Asia tour this spring called [SQUAD:R]. They start off in Seoul on March 2nd and then take the continent from there. You want tickets? Don’t worry, feel free to check availability right here.

Since their debut, BABYMONSTER has shown incredible vocal and expressive ability. Still, they certainly didn’t prepare us for this fantastic single to kick off our February K-Pop Hotspot! With a tranquil melody and mesmerizing visuals, we are enveloped in ‘Stuck In The Middle,’ a love story that ebbs and flows, rises and falls, but somehow has us in the middle of chaos. Love is sweet as honey but also dense and complex, isn’t it BABYMONSTER?

TWICE
February is the month of love, so how fitting is it that TWICE released an absolute banger that we love? ‘I Got You,’ released in anticipation of their thirteenth mini album, With YOU-th, released on February 23rd! The track is catchy, addicting, and another representation of why TWICE is a K-POP household name. So grab your besties and favorite drink, and put this one on full blast to celebrate the beauty of friendship!

We’ve been buzzing over the news of EPEX‘s upcoming full-length album, so we were overjoyed at getting a whole pre-release single. The sentimental sound of ‘Graduation Day’ reaches not only our ears but our hearts as well. The blend of sadness and hope perfectly fits the song’s message, and if this is just a taste of their album, we are even more impatient to hear the rest of the tracks.

AIMERS
The first few notes in AIMERS‘ ‘Somebody’ were all we needed to know we’d fall instantly in love with this song. When we say you’ll be addicted to the single, we mean it. And if having one of these gems wasn’t enough, well, you’re in luck: there’s also an English version. Let us also direct you to the music video; the shots and choreography are simply stunning, and we couldn’t let you miss on either!

n.SSign is back with their second EP, Happy &, and these boys bring all the good vibes our way in this February K-Pop hotspot. Ever since their debut last August, we knew we’d stan them on their sound alone, and we were right! The melody and chorus in their title track, ‘Happy &,’ are no joke! And the music video is as bright and refreshing as you’d think. n.SSign knows exactly what K-Pop songs we love, and the versatility of their b-side tracks hits us even more.

IKON DK
Attention iKONICs: who’s streaming DK’s NAKSEO[戀]? The whole album has us blasting the songs at full volume. There was no doubt about the quality, and when ‘LTNS’ was pre-released, we were even more certain about that. DK got us melting over those honey vocals, and we’ve been obsessing over ‘GROOVIN’ since the album dropped. We’re also especially loving ‘Little Bird’ and ‘??.’

BTOB HYUNSIK
Everyone should know this by now. BTOB‘s Hyunsik is a multi-talented king, and his new solo EP, The Young Man and the Deep Sea, soared past all our expectations. The title track, ‘La Mar,’ stole our breath with Hyunsik’s vocals and the music video visuals. Imagine filming underwater while singing and playing the guitar. We can’t even imagine not flailing underwater. No one commits to the bit as much as Hyunsik does, and we’re so glad we stan!

IU’s new EP is arguably one of the most important K-Pop comebacks this month! We are sure there is nothing IU can’t do, and this mini-album proves those skeptics were missing. The Winning is a new episode in IU’s career, where she conquers new beats and tells us stories through lyrics. Her videos for ‘Shopper,’ ‘Holssi,’ and ‘Love Wins All’ enclose us in a beautiful atmosphere. She also has iconic collaborations that only she could make perfect.

MAMAMOO MOONBYUL
Moonbyul. The woman that you are. She’s back with her first-ever full album, Starlit of Muse, and as the title suggests, this album is absolute magic from start to finish. Earlier this month, We got hyped with her pre-release track, ‘Think About. The title track, ‘TOUCHIN&MOVIN,’ is the grooviest dance track we’ve heard from her yet! It’s super catchy, and the choreography is enough of a reason to stan Moonbyul! We’re also obsessed with each of her B-sides, especially ‘Like a Fool,’ ‘After Sunset,’ ‘DARK ROMANCE,’ and ‘Memories (feat. ONEWE)!’ Moonbyul has no skips in her discography, and Starlit of Muse only cements her status as queen of our fangirl hearts!

YUGYEOM
How long does it take to love Yugyeom? He says one minute, but we fell for him since we met him almost ten years ago! On this mini album, Yugyeom explores his style and makes it even more his own, with those beats and dance moves that make him so authentic. And this full album feels like a journey with him, not only for those who’ve followed him for a long time but also for many more who want to join the Ahgase wave!

TWICE
In TWICE, we trust! We can always rely on these queens to slay no matter what, and their 13th mini-album, With YOU-th, is another killer comeback! It was easy to tell how much we’d love this comeback with their pre-release track, ‘I Got You’ alone. But the title track? The choreography, outfits, lyrics, and music video visuals for ‘One Spark’ took our breath away! And don’t forget the b-sides on their latest no-skips EP. Our favorites are ‘Rush’ and ‘You Get Me.’ It’s heartwarming to see how much they have fun making music, and TWICE’s quality only goes up!

ASTRO
We weren’t expecting to cry for days on end while writing our February K-Pop Hotspot. Still, what could we do after ASTRO released their healing new special single, ‘Circles?’ Our favorite music videos have montages of behind-the-scenes recording clips and group members having a good time together. And ASTRO made us so emotional with their video compilation. With spring on the horizon, ‘Circles’ is the perfect reminder that new beginnings are natural. Don’t let change scare you because we’ll find our way back to each other one day. Yep, cue the waterworks.

CRAVITY
CRAVITY is so back! Their seventh mini-album, EVERSHINE, is another no-skips album for us! After listening to their highlight medley, we knew we wouldn’t skip a single song. The energetic title track, ‘Love or Die,’ has killer instrumentals that make us feel like we’re in our training arc. And what’s a CRAVITY EP without high-quality B-side tracks? ‘Cherry Blossom’ and ‘Over & Over’ are the perfect songs to welcome the springtime theme song, while ‘Mr.’ is the ultimate dance club track! EVERSHINE is a masterpiece, period!

M.O.N.T
How long has it been since we got a M.O.N.T comeback? Suddenly, that doesn’t matter because we have a mini-album at our disposal, and we’re screaming and jumping from all the joy. The title ‘IDGAF’ has a rock feel to it and is our new feel-good anthem. The members’ singing is overflowing with energy, and we feel charged! And, oh, did we get ‘Lucky!’ Among the brand new four tracks on IDGAF, there’s a solo by Narachan that you HAVE TO check out. But, hey, we’ll say that about all of M.O.N.T’s new songs. BOBBY
BOBBY takes us to another world with his new studio album, Sir.Robert! He shows off his unmatched rapping style with bangers like ‘sae (feat. Huh)’ and ‘harmless (feat. CHANMINA).’ But of course, BOBBY also blesses us with his vocals in mellow songs like ‘moon (feat. iHwak)’ and ‘I’ll do that.’ If you couldn’t already tell, the features on his album are insane! NCT WISH
To close out our February K-Pop Hotspot, NCT WISH has officially made their debut with their single album, WISH! Since their pre-debut singles, ‘Hands Up’ and ‘We Go!,’ we’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for their debut tracks. These boys made a whole movie with their music videos for ‘WISH!’ We got Korean and Japanese versions of the title track and a different video for each version! And their b-side track, ‘Sail Away,’ has such a bright and addictive sound. NCT WISH’s vocals are ones to watch this year, and we might just stan! (RIP our wallets…)
