K-POP HOTSPOT: November 2022 Comebacks And Debuts Roundup

Hello, honey bees who have a taste for the best honey, aka K-POP. It is time again for a new installment of your favorite THP feature – our K-POP HOTSPOT in November! As the most wonderful time of the year is upon us, it is time we look back at what is behind us! So much happened this last month, from debuts to comebacks and more, so this K-POP roundup is packed! Before we dive in, make sure to check out the comebacks we already covered, such as NCT Ten, STAYC, BoA, BTS Jungkook, NMIXX, SECRET NUMBER, B.I, WOO!AH, LE SSERAFIM, VICTON, EXO Chen, KIM SUNGGYU, XDINARY HEROS, ALEXA, SEVENTEEN, HIGHLIGHT, HEESU, RED VELVET, ITZY, ATEEZ, KANG DANIEL, and P1HARMONY.

Before we get into the comebacks and debuts though, let’s have a look at what some of our favorite artists were up to! There has been so much happening last month, but one of the things we want to focus on are EVERGLOW‘s collab with The Fat Rat, which you can listen to here. It blew us away to finally hear from these girls again, and that for a collab that brought us back to our teens? Well, sign us up! Another thing that blew us away is one of our fave groups, XG, releasing a rap cypher video that was way too good not to mention. Make sure you watch it here!

Okay, we are done, promise! Now, let’s get into many more amazing comebacks and debuts from November.

NATURE

We might only hear from NATURE every once in a blue moon, but while we haven’t gotten over ‘Girls’ yet, they just threw a new banger at us. ‘LIMBO!’ has that high energy of K-Pop songs we love so dearly! We just wish we could get more music from these girls as the potential for greatness is more than there!

NEWKIDD

Jinkwon and Minwook of Newkidd are back with an addictive new single! ‘Victory’ is an upbeat dance track, and we’ve fallen in love with the instrumentals. These boys even speak Spanish AND Portuguese in this song, which totally caught us off guard in the best way possible! Newkidd shot the ‘Victory’ music video in Brazil, and it was so fun seeing them show us around the city.

NINE.i

We had to wait a second, but we knew NINE.i would not disappoint us with their first comeback. ‘Young Boy’ is the pop-rock anthem we needed. Not only is the song incredibly catchy, but also a good time. NINE.i’s vocals get their moment to shine and we are in love with the entire sound of this bop. Make sure to check out the album, too!

KIM JONGHYEON

Kim Jonghyeon, formerly known as JR from NU’EST, has finally debuted as a solo artist! His first mini-album, Meridiem, is a work of art. The title track, ‘Lights,’ instantly makes us happy, especially with the way he grooves along and has fun in the music video. Our favorite b-side tracks are ‘Blaze’ and ‘to. ( ).’ He experiments with different sounds and genres with his debut, and we’re absolutely here for it!

ICHILLIN’

Minimalistic pop songs are alive and well and ICHILLIN’ offered us the newest installment of this style with ‘Draw.’ We, for one, actually think this song gets better and better with each listen. We have waited for ICHILLIN’ to deliver a song with this concept and, yes, they made it extra enjoyable!

CRAXY

We feel dizzy from the dangerously good comeback that CRAXY had this November. Like that spiral-eyed emoji – you know the one – that’s how we are after hearing and watching ‘Poison Rose.’ The ladies have been crazy busy this whole year, and there still seem to be plans for more! Well, we’ll be here enjoying their new song while patiently waiting for more from them.

APINK EUNJI

APINK’s Eunji is back with her Log remake album, and it exceeded every expectation we had! Eunji gives us her version of five classic tracks, with the title track being a cover of Buzz’s ‘나에게로 떠나는 여행 (Journey For Myself).’ She simply doesn’t know what skips are. Listening to Log makes us feel like an anime protagonist, and we’re making it our main character soundtrack until further notice.

RYU SUJEONG

If you know us, you’ll know that music videos with clips from behind the scenes are our favorites. Ryu Sujeong’s new single, ‘Dearest,’ delivers just that alongside a song that’s both heartbreaking and beautiful. Her vocals are angelic, and we can hear her sincerity and passion in every word she sings. She’s grown so much as an artist since her debut with Lovelyz, and we’re glad we get to hear her share more of her own songs!

TRENDZ

We knew there was a reason to keep an eye on TRENDZ! If their previous releases got us hooked, then they definitely sealed the deal with ‘VAGABOND.’ That energy, that presence, it’s everything we needed and more! We’ve been bopping to this song over and over, and that chorus!? Chef’s kiss!!! Let’s also not forget that the single album, BLUE SET Chapter. UNKNOWN CØDE, has two more songs. They match so well with the title, not backing down through their own upbeat rhythm. We know we’ll be enjoying this one for a long time!

OH MY GIRL YOOA

YooA is back with her second mini-album, Selfish, and it did not disappoint! The pre-release tracks ‘Lay Low’ and ‘Melody’ were plenty to get us hyped for her comeback. Her charisma is on another level, and we couldn’t stop watching her video for the title track, ‘Selfish.’ YooA gets to show off her talent in several different music genres with this EP, and she spoils us with three whole music videos!

VERIVERY

We here at THP are huge supporters of VERIVERY, so of course, we were excited for their third single album, Liminality-Ep. LOVE. The leading track, ‘Tap Tap,’ took us on a fun journey through different transitions throughout this one song! We gotta say though – our favorite part of the track is the second verse, it had us jamming along. We also advise not sleeping on the second track ‘Motivate’ especially if you like their track ‘Fallin.’ Give this a listen, we know you’ll enjoy it!

KEVIN OH

Kevin Oh is back with his new studio album [Pieces Of _], which is his first comeback since his first EP, Stardust, in 2017! While he’s released a handful of K-Drama OSTs over the past five years, we’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for a new release from Kevin Oh. And now we finally have it! [Pieces Of _] is a masterpiece from start to finish, a phenomenal mix of ballads and R&B tracks that are way too underrated. Our favorite songs are ‘The Moon And Stars,’ ‘Babo Song,’ and ‘Dawn.’

DRIPPIN

You know who’s got us drippin’ in sweat because all they make are workout bops? Yes, exactly… DRIPPIN! With ‘The One’ and their first full album, they have proved yet again this month that they have it in themselves to consistently deliver bop after bop. Well, with those rocky verses and all-out punchy chorus they had us with ‘The One,’ this might have been our favorite release of the month. ‘Silence’ is also more than worth checking out on the album!

JUST B

Just B have introduced us to another one of our fave pieces of music: = (NEUN). The group’s third mini album opens up with the explosive track ‘DOMINO,’ which has quickly become a fan favorite, as well as ‘Ready or Not.’ The members’ vocals had us in awe in their leading track, ‘ME= (NANEUN). But we have to say our favorite track has to be ‘Cherry on Top,’ it’s just so sweet and the cherry on top of an amazing project! In all, we are impressed with = (NEUN), and know, like they usually do, will continue to surprise us.

AIMERS

It seems like November was the month of debuts and AIMERS are here with a ‘Fight Inside.’ We’ve had our eyes on these rookies since their debut was announced and all we can say is that the wait was worth it. ‘Fight Inside’ checks all the K-Pop boy group boxes and we are excited to see what comes next for them!

CSR

Sometimes we just need a cute and catchy song to cheer us up, and CSR’s new single album, 17&, has the perfect sound. The title track ‘♡TiCON’ is about falling in love for the first time and trying to deal with these weird feelings. The b-side ‘Anding (&)’ is just as sweet, and the chorus is so catchy. We can’t believe it’s only these girls’ first comeback, and we’re impressed by how well they fit the innocent first love concept!

FIFTY FIFTY

This new four-piece girl group may be called Fifty Fifty, but they’re 100% everything we need. If you missed their debut, here’s your chance to check it out! Their debut track is called ‘Higher,’ which is a bubbly, teen-pop song with a beautiful music video. They had two pre-release songs as well: ‘Lovin’ Me’ and ‘Log In.’ All three songs, plus another track, ‘Tell Me’ comprise their mini-album, The Fifty. This is a pretty solid debut for Fifty Fifty, with each track showcasing their talent through different musical concepts. Definitely stay tuned in for their next comeback, we have a feeling it’s going to be amazing!

RYU SUJEONG

Imagine coming back twice in one month with back-to-back bops! Ryu Sujeong’s new track, ‘Pink Moon,’ follows her lovely single ‘Dearest.’ We’ve been blessed with a magical, city-pop song about dancing and singing freely under a pink moon. It’s a sign of a new beginning for Ryu Sujeong, who’s recently started her own label. ‘Pink Moon’ is getting us so excited to see what else she has in store!

SHINHWA WDJ

Yes, you read that right. Shinhwa’s back! And while it is a unit debut for WDJ (Minwoo, Dongwan, and Junjin), we’ll take a comeback from them however and whenever it comes. Their pre-release song, ‘Tomorrow,’ is such a calming track dedicated to Shinhwa’s fans who have been around and stayed with them for years. “Even if you’re afraid of tomorrow, we’re together.” We’re always hoping for the best tomorrow and the day after for Shinhwa. (Not us getting emotional right now.)

SOLJI

We’re getting quite a few emotional ballads this month, but we’re not complaining! Solji reminds us why she’s the queen of ballads with her beautiful soft voice in ‘The days we were us,’ a song worthy of being in a romantic K-Drama. And we have to admit, the title is enough to make us cry. The music video features her sitting in a peaceful space while serenading us. She proves that she doesn’t need fancy sets to move us, she just needs her vocals.

GOMAK BOYS

Did we need something a little sweeter to warm us up in the cold days ahead? We most definitely did, and GOMAK BOYS gave it to us! Honestly, who wouldn’t feel all soft and fuzzy inside while listening to ‘Sweet Thing’ or ‘You and Me.’ No one, that’s who. There’s no denying these guys have honey vocals, and they have proven that before and made names for themselves. Now they bring all that talent into one place, and it’s a brilliant combination. We are here to appreciate them, and there’s only one more thing we want to say, hear us out: we hope to see more of this project group in the future! That’s it, that is all!

TEMPEST

Tempest may have debuted this year, but they made sure they stayed busy by providing us with quality music over and over. ON and ON is already their third release, and we’re obsessed with it! The mini-album has those brighter, positive songs the group is known for, but it also offers something new. Tempest goes dark and confident with the title track ‘Dragon,’ and it’s absolutely a bop we won’t stop replaying! They showed us they got the fierce concept covered, so now we wonder, is there anything these boys can’t do? Their new songs are already on our playlists, so they better be on yours, too!

TO1

TO1 had us ‘Drummin’ during the first half of the year, and now they deliver ‘Freeze Tag’ to make the colder month as much fun as summer was. We don’t know what their company puts into their food, but the boys just keep getting better and better! From a fun rhythm and beat to an all-out chorus that gets stuck in your head, ‘Freeze Tag’ did it for us.

ONEUS

ONEUS has just dropped their first full-length Japanese album, Dopamine, and our brains are responding accordingly. The title track, ‘Dopamine,’ is a groovy song about being so in love with someone that they’re your dopamine! We haven’t skipped a single song from this album, not that we were expecting anything less from our boys. And we can’t get over the Japanese versions of ‘Same Scent,’ ‘Bring It On,’ ‘A Song Written Easily,’ and ‘To Be Or Not To Be.’ These songs are good in any language, and you can’t convince us otherwise!

TEEN TOP NIEL

November is full of long-awaited comebacks, and Niel’s third mini-album, A To Z, is definitely one of them! This EP is his first comeback since his 2017 EP, Love Affair… ‘A to Z’ is a killer title track with equally impressive choreography! The R&B track ‘Single Love’ is one of our favorite b-sides, and Niel never fails to amaze us with his vocal range.

ONLYONEOF MILL

OnlyOneOf have been killing it with back-to-back bangers for their be project! Next in this series is Mill’s solo ‘Beat,’ a hip-hop track with a head-bangin’ instrumental! We are so impressed by these boys, and we’re definitely too emotionally invested in them now. 2022 is only the beginning for OnlyOneOf, and we bet that 2023 is going to get them even more recognition!

KARA

Everybody, stay calm! Or not, because how can we possibly stay calm when KARA’s back?! That’s right. These legends have reunited for a special 15th-anniversary album, and we’re beyond grateful! Move Again and its title track, ‘When I Move,’ quickly remind us of how much KARA slayed the second generation of K-Pop. The b-side ‘Shout It Out’ is title-track worthy, and it’s the perfect party song. And listening to ‘Happy Hour’ and ‘Oxygen’ literally brings tears to our eyes. What else is there to say? If you don’t hear from us for the next two weeks, just know that we’re recovering from KARA’s comeback.
