Honeybees, can you believe it? Can you believe it? We made it through another year! We know everyone wants to go into 2025 being their best self and living their best life. Below, you will find empowering pop songs that will help you be your best self in 2025. While we wish we could give you a lot, we settled for ten, including a song by Sabrina Carpenter. All the songs are perfect for your 2025 or empowerment playlists.
‘Espresso’ by Sabrina Carpenter
“And now he’s thinkin’ ’bout me every night, oh
Is it that sweet? I guess so
Say you can’t sleep, baby, I know
That’s that me espresso”
We can’t go into this list without mentioning Sabrina Carpenter’s hit song ‘Espresso‘ from her Short n’ Sweet album. After all, we love her and the song so much here at The Honey POP. On the surface level, Sabrina sings about sleepiness and needing some espresso. Overall, the song is about feeling confident about who you are and not being afraid to embrace your feminine side. Between its catchy lyrics and fun beat, the song oozes empowerment. We can’t help but want to sing along every time the song starts to play. Who wouldn’t play this song and feel the need to embrace who they are? Also, it helps to see Sabrina enjoying a day out at the beach and having fun in the video.

‘Mantra’ by JENNIE
“This that pretty-girl mantra, this that flaunt ya, just touched down in L.A.
Pretty girls don’t do drama ‘less we wanna, it’ll be depending on the day“
‘Mantra‘ by JENNIE is an automatic bop and song of empowerment off the bat. This song is all about having fun, flaunting what you have, and ignoring the drama people might try to bring your way. It’s the perfect song to head into 2025 with, especially if you need a reminder to ignore the drama, focus on yourself and who you are, and not let anyone or anything get in the way. Girls and women, we hope you’re listening—your happiness means more than anything and always comes first. In the words of JENNIE, “You’re gonna feel this every day.” You deserve to feel happiness every day.

‘Ambitious’ by ASTON
“If a b*tch means get what I want, than I′m a b*tch
We are not the same, you′re not even my relative“
We don’t talk about one of our favorite newcomers, ASTON, enough. Honestly, this is our first time talking about her, and we’re happy this is our first time being able to do that. ASTON has many songs about empowerment and being your best self that we had a hard time choosing just one song. However, ‘Ambitious’ won the race for us. It’s all about being ambitious if you want the short version.
If you want more than the short version of what it’s about, it’s about manifesting any and everything you could want in the world and stopping at nothing to get to that point. She name-drops icons such as Britney Spears, Missy Elliot, Rihanna, and more. This is a go-to song about wanting to follow and achieve your dreams. We don’t know about you, but we’re manifesting all 2025. We can’t help but love the song and “eat it all up, up, up.”

‘Fight Like A Girl’ by Zolita
“I got a lot to say
No time to play, ay, I’m coming for ya
I’ll be standing tall
While I watch you fall, ay, you know I’m coming for ya“
Need a reason to speak up and speak your mind going into the new year and beyond? Zolita’s ‘Fight Like A Girl’ is that song for you. The song is about not letting anyone tell you what to do or what to say. It’s about using your voice to speak up about what you want and believe in, without worrying about what someone else has to say about it. The song is aimed toward everyone, despite their gender identity. During the outro, she sings, “My body, my choice, my rights, and my voice.” If this doesn’t scream “empowerment” and “trying to be your best self by speaking up for yourself and others,” we don’t know what to tell you!

‘Fight Song’ by Rachel Platten
“And all those things I didn’t say,
Wrecking balls inside my brain
I will scream them loud tonight
Can you hear my voice this time?”
This is a different type of fight song than the one mentioned above. ‘Fight Song’ by Rachel Platten is about no longer listening to what others say about you. It’s about controlling who you are and what you want to be or do. Wanting to break free is something that a lot of people can relate to, and speaking up is something a lot of people wish they could do but sometimes feel like they can’t.
If you need that reminder from here on out, this is the perfect song to play during those times, especially when there’s something you know you want to do and can do, but others are trying to tell you that you can’t. It’s time to stop listening to naysayers and believe in yourself. You’re the only person whose belief in yourself matters at the end of the day.

‘Hard On Yourself’ by Charlie Puth & blackbear
“Try not to fall apart.
You’re perfect just the way you are
It will be alright,
Why are you so hard on yourself?“
There are times when people are hard on themselves, and Charlie Puth is no different, as he mentioned in a tweet back when the song came out. ‘Hard On Yourself’ is about someone being hard on themselves due to several reasons. Instead of focusing on things keeping the person down, Charlie Puth and blackbear want them to focus on the positive things. It’s hard not being hard on yourself sometimes, but if you want to be your best self, you have to try.

‘Joy of Missing Out’ by AleXa
“Honey, you can count me out
Leave me be by myself
I’ll be happiest, happiest now
Honestly you’re missing out
On the joy of missing out“
Everyone knows about FOMO, the fear of missing out, but how about the ‘Joy of Missing Out’? AleXa’s song is about being happy with being alone and doing your own thing, instead of going out to be with your friends or strangers. We live in a society where wanting to do nothing is sometimes frowned upon when it shouldn’t be. AleXa isn’t afraid to be in her own company, and neither should anyone else. People tend to be their best selves while alone than around other people, after all.

‘Living In The Moment’ by Jason Mraz
“I can’t walk through life facing backwards, I have tried
I tried more than once to just make sure
And I was denied the future I’d been searching for.
I spun around and hurt no more.”
Life should be about living in the moment. We couldn’t help but include Jason Mraz’s song, ‘Living In The Moment,’ here. The song is about not wasting time on things that don’t matter, from things you can’t change, the past you want to move on from, etc. Instead of focusing on any of that, you should take things one step at a time and live in the now, so you won’t miss out on things you could be doing.

‘Sad Girl Era’ by Cloudy June
“Make peace with the girl in the mirror
She never deserved the things I said
Nothin’ lasts forever
This is the end of my sad-girl era (Era)”
Cloudy June knows how to make songs of empowerment. We could’ve featured ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry‘ in this list, but ‘Sad Girl Era’ seemed more fitting. The song is about changing certain aspects in your life, from talking negatively to yourself to those people from your past that you no longer want to deal with. Cloudy June wants to make peace with herself and no longer be in her ‘Sad Girl Era.’
She’s ready to move forward and not look back at that time. It’s time for her to love herself the way she should. It’s sometimes hard to do and takes some time, but everyone should aim to love themselves fully and unconditionally. In 2025, let’s try to get out of our sad girl era, even if for a little while. As we said, it can be hard, and sometimes things happen. That said, if you find yourself in your sad girl era, be nice to it.

‘Proud of You’ by Emmalyn
‘Cause I heard you been down on yourself
Well, I gotta tell you,
I’m proud of you
The old me would say to the new me now
I’m proud of you (Proud of you), yeah“
Emmalyn’s ‘Proud of You’ is an underrated gem. While some can interpret Emmalyn singing that she’s proud of another person, the “you” she’s singing about is herself. She’s reflecting on moments she’s gone through and how she’s doing some reflecting on inner conflicts she’s had with herself and things other people have said to her along the way. While doing so, she realizes she’s proud of herself and how far she’s come throughout time. This song is the last in the bunch because, at the end of the day, if you’re going to be your best self, remind yourself how proud you are of you.
