Claire Rosinkranz is back! After opening for Alex Warren’s Finding Family on the Road Tour, she is finally able to shine on her own headline tour. And we’re not only grateful that we got to see her do it, but that we got to see her open up the tour in Columbus, Ohio. From the second she stepped onto the stage (barefoot, might we add) and began singing Lucy, it was clear that Claire was born for the stage. But before her cheeky performance lit up A&R Music Bar on a Tuesday night, Stevie Bill set the bar high.
Stevie Bill
Taking the stage in all black with a cool haircut, Stevie Bill was captivating. Not only were her songs and vocals impressive, but her stage presence was magnetic. She was aware of her job for the night: to get the crowd excited. With her charming interactions with the crowd, Stevie kept everyone in the packed crowd hyped and ready for more. As for us, ‘Hahaha’ was quickly added to our playlists.

And then Claire Rosinkranz herself bounced onstage. And we mean bounce; the pep in her step was immediately noticeable. She was a ball of energy just waiting to share it with her crowd. And her playful style was irresistible. Jumping up and down, singing along, this crowd was not going to waste a second.
Through new songs and old favorites, she danced around onstage as if she felt at home, both on stage and in her own body. And it’s clear that Claire has been waiting for this moment. She spun around, she whipped her hair back and forth, and she moved with the confidence of an artist who is comfortable on a big stage. As she shared with us, this was her first headline show in two years. And in that time, she’s learned a lot about herself. After struggling with chronic illness, she returned to large stages as an opener for Alex Warren, and before that, Maroon 5. Now, she is able to perform an intimate set while maintaining her larger-than-life stage presence. Even the fact that she stepped foot onto the carpeted stage with no shoes on shows that she felt grounded with a crowd that was all her own.
Being her first headline show since the release of her album My Lover, some new songs got the chance to shine. She moved between deeply personal songs like ‘Chronic’ and witty ones like ‘Crazy Bitch Song.’ Then she stuck the landing of the main set with the whimsical indie-pop song ‘Bleeding Violet.’ But that doesn’t mean she would forget the hits. The opening notes of old favorites like ‘don’t miss me’ struck a chord with the already high-energy crowd. And of course, the electrifying encore started with ‘Backyard Boy.’ It was an explosion of feminine energy as longtime fans danced in their flowy skirts and pastels. No doubt relishing in their own memories of the viral 2020 pop song, all it took was one word from Claire herself and the entire crowd was on their feet.
Equal parts spectacular and down-to-earth, Claire has perfected the balance that makes a show magical. Even as she embraced the realness of opening night, laughing at herself as she forgot a lyric or checked the setlist, her fans left with an unforgettable experience. Maybe a piece of merch as well. At least, we imagine most fans took advantage of Claire’s unique idea at the merch table: leave a message on her phone giving her one word, and she might use you for her next song.
Needless to say, Claire Rosinkranz is a force to be reckoned with. With so many artists coming up right now, it can be difficult to stand out. But with passion like Claire’s, anything is possible. She’s flirty and thriving, and we couldn’t take our eyes off of her.
