A world tour, a viral b-side, a new solo debut: ITZY has been an unstoppable force in 2026, and they are here to cement their impact on the year with their first comeback of 2026: Motto. The girls are welcoming the sun, the fresh air, and the colors of spring with open arms, bringing tracks that give nothing but brightness and joy to our playlists. Motto gives way to the perfect album to add to their iconic discography, and here’s how they did it.
The Title Track: ‘Motto’
ITZY are known for their bold, loud songs, but ‘Motto’ proves that there’s truly no sound or concept that they can’t do. ‘Motto’ feels fresh, new, and unique in ITZY‘s discography, but also so true to their identity, charm, and unapologetic selves. ‘Motto’ serves K-Pop perfection, blending a summery energy with a classy vibe and bright one. From the singular verses to the catchy chorus, ‘Motto’ has multiple parts that feel so unique and blend perfectly, but the big highlight has to be the bridge excellence they deliver. ‘Motto’ is a song that will brighten your days with ITZY’s infectious energy and optimism, and it’ll never leave your head.
The B-Sides: ‘Glitch’ & ‘you And I’
‘Motto’ was already enough to brighten our days and welcome the spring in the best way, but both of the OT5 songs in Motto follow that same energy, all while adding their own identity, and it makes it even better. ‘Glitch’ has a unique energy, with a production that plays with sounds that evoke the song’s concept. This b-side exudes iconic ITZY energy: confident, particular, and addictive. Meanwhile, ‘you And I’ serves as the perfect joyful, cute, sweet love song. It’s the softer side of the new sound ITZY are exploring, all while including rap verses that make it more unique.
The Solo Songs
What made this comeback one of the most anticipated releases was the studio version of the solo songs that ITZY have been performing at their Tunnel Vision World Tour. After the release of their first solo songs in their BORN TO BE album, and the solo debut of Yeji and Yuna, the expectations were high for these tracks. And each song explores the full individuality of the girls while blending seamlessly. It’s ITZY after all.
This time around, Yeji’s is giving us the older sister of her solo b-side ‘Can’t Slow Me, No‘ with its Latin influence. Her contagious confidence and charm are all over this track. Lia, on the other hand, gave us ‘Asylum,’ one of the best highlights of Motto. The pop song fully focuses on her beautiful vocals and unique tone, and its beauty comes from the vulnerability of the lyrics and the way, with just one song, she alone creates a safe place. Ryujin’s approach to her solo song is totally different: ‘Look’ is electrifying, bold, and hints at darkness, with elements of experimental and industrial production. It’s a song that truly shows the entire extent of Ryujin’s power as a performer and an idol.
‘Undefined’ by Chaeryeong has to go down as one of the best b-sides in 2026. The jazz-inspired song fits Chaeryeon’s charm and vocals to perfection, exploring the tension and the seduction between two people who keep orbiting each other. It’s an absolute gem. Coming out of her solo debut, Yuna serves the perfect closing track with ‘Tangerine.’ Motto closes with this magical, retro song, which Yuna carries with ease, with her infectious, joyful, and comforting energy. ‘Tangerine’ is the prettiest song on the entire release and the cherry on top of an album that shows ITZY exploring their sound, opening new doors for the future, and cementing the unique force that they are.
