5 Reasons Why … You Should Stan Mamamoo

Mamamoo is just about to have another comeback. So, the time to stan is right now and if you needed some reasons to stan we got you. Before we get to enjoy and convince you with their upcoming single ‘Aya’ we have five other reasons for you to stan right here! If you dare to proceed that is.

To give you a rough introduction Mamamoo is a group under RBW Entertainment and consists of four members Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa. They debuted on June 14th, 2014 with the song ‘Mr. Ambiguous.’ Now that we have the basics down. Let’s get into the good stuff!

Vocal Queens Who Make Bops

Mamamoo are absolute vocal monsters! No one is doing it like them in the K-Pop game at the moment. They are well known for having some of the most stable high notes and they usually perform with handheld microphones since they are clearer when it comes to singing and performance. Only with ‘HIP’ did the group use headset mics for the first time. The choreography demanded it and it was sure worth it. Give it a watch! Besides being strong on the vocal side the girls also have an amazing discography and keep putting out bops all the time. ‘gogobebe’ is just one of the many tracks we are absolutely obsessed with!

Performances That Are Legendary

Mamamoo won Mnet’s Queendom last year! Well deserved if you ask us! The group delivered multiple solid performances during the show and they all have millions of views! We know a legendary performance when we see one. Even their concerts have given us some top-notch acts we can’t get over! Seriously, have you seen Solar pole dancing at end of the year performances? No one is doing it like them! And we all remember the moment they performed alongside JYP at MAMA 2019 right? Truly legendary!

Slaying Not Only As A Group But Also As Solo Artists

All of Mamamoo’s members have successful solo careers! Hwasa is by far the one with the most success! She is a queen when it comes to making catchy songs. But also Solar, Wheein, and Moonbyul each have amazing songs released so far. Each solo concept couldn’t be more different from the other but it works and it shows how different the girls’ colors are! These colors even had a whole concept series dedicated to them. The 4 Seasons 4 Colors Project, it included four mini-albums on which each member had a solo song that corresponded to their color. Hwasa’s is Yellow, Moonbyul’s is Red, Solar’s is Blue and Wheein’s is White. The colors represent also the girls approach to their solo music and we really can’t get enough of this concept.

Girls Speak Out

Mamamoo is by far one of the most outspoken girl group when it comes to feminism and issues regarding women. Solar has her own video channel where she posted a video about female genital mutilation to raise awareness and donate to the cause to prevent it from happening. Solar also has been seen ripping off her shirt during concerts just like male idols do. She said that if boys are allowed to do it why can’t girls do it too. We support this fight for equality! Hwasa is also known for speaking out about issues. She has been heavily critizied about what she wears and how she acts on the reality show I live Alone. She counters these attacks with the fact that’ she can wear and do what she wants. They all are powerful women fighting the stereotypes and the norm that has been set in the K-Pop world for female idols. We applaud this behavior and are proud to stan these queens!

Their Friendship

At last, we would like to highlight the group’s friendship. These girls really love and trust each other and it shows. When they are together they act like siblings and make fun of one another. It makes for some of the funniest content. The group has also mentioned that they become quiet and shy when they meet new people and we could witness this during Queendom as well. The usually loud and silly group became very quiet when meeting the other girl groups. We love to see how comfortable they are with each other and having so much fun!

And that’s a wrap, as we said before, now is the perfect time to stan these four girls and we assure you, you will not regret it.
