Earlier this week, Team THP was lucky enough to be invited down to The London Palladium, to see HRVY live on his Third Time Lucky Tour, with support from Denis Coleman, Samantha Harvey, and Keelie Walker.
The first two opening acts were Keelie Walker and YouTube star Samantha Harvey, who each really warmed up the crowd and showcased their personalities in their respective sets. A particular highlight was Samantha Harvey’s cover of Adele’s ‘Easy On Me,’ a brave choice considering how new the song is, but Samantha pulled it off with ease.
For a rising star of just 18 years old, Denis commands the stage with an impressive amount of charisma and confidence. He had a short setlist, but managed to encompass so many genres in just 20 minutes, from EDM to pop-punk. ‘pillowTHOUGHTS’ was a real highlight of the set; not only is it an elite tier song with YUNGBLUD and Paramore influences, but it also was when Denis really stepped the energy up a notch.
Another great moment was ‘Wrong Reasons.’ It’s an uptempo breakup song that already had a special place in our hearts, thanks to its self-directed music video, but it really takes on another life when performed live.
It’s refreshing to see someone so early in their career command the stage and work a room the way Denis does; he truly didn’t stay still for even half a second! Whatever ‘it’ is, Denis Coleman has it! If you fancy seeing Denis live too, he’s on tour next spring with Here At Last and The 202, tickets are available here!
HRVY has been waiting for this tour for more than two years, and all that built-up enthusiasm showed. His energy didn’t dwindle throughout the hour-long set as he raced through hits like ‘Hasta Luego,’ ‘Younger with Jonas Blue,’ and, of course, ‘Personal.’ The crowd interactions were hilarious and paced the concert well, especially when HRVY generously let a drunk fan sing and then said she “didn’t sound quite like Ariana Grande!”
One of the best moments of the night was HRVY’s performance of latest single ‘Runaway With It.’ The song is built for crowd interaction with those “da da da da” chants and we loved being part of one of the first crowds to see HRVY perform it live!
We also have to give huge props to his backup dancers! Their enthusiasm and talent were almost as key to the show as HRVY’s incredible vocals, and the super fun choreo gave HRVY the perfect excuse to show off those Strictly moves!
HRVY’s choice of covers was both fun and smart; ‘Drivers License’ by Olivia Rodrigo and ‘Falling’ by Harry Styles. The songs showcased new sides of HRVY, plus, if you’re a fan of his, chances are you’re a fan of at least one of those two artists.
Our favorite moment? Here at The Honey POP, we’re big KPop fans, so we were thrilled to see HRVY perform ‘Don’t Need Your Love,’ his incredible 2019 collab with NCT DREAM! HRVY’s speech about how much the song means to him, plus showing off the tattoo he got in its honor, was truly special!
There are still a couple of dates left to see Denis Coleman, HRVY, and more, live on the Third Time Lucky Tour – you can grab your tickets here!
