Don’t you love a good cover? Artists grabbing incredible songs and making them their own is something we adore in this hive. This collaboration featuring YUNGBLUD and BNXN is no different! The duo transformed this 1991 hit, ‘Movin’ On Up’ by Primal Scream, and made it their own in such a sensational way.
Along with this collaboration arrives the announcement that YUNGBLUD has been added to the Coke Studio 2023 lineup! That’s so exciting! Coke Studio is for established music artists from all over the world to come together to create and collaborate. Other artists in the lineup for this year include Imagine Dragons and NewJeans, so he’s certainly among good company!
It was amazing to be given the opportunity to cover this classic anthem. Primal Scream are one of my favorite bands of all time and to be given the honor to take it on in this prestigious studio was incredible. To put a new spin on it with BNXN was amazing, too.
YUNGBLUD
YUNGBLUD and BNXN’s take on ‘Movin’ On Up’ by Primal Scream is a power-move anthem that mixes rock with Afrobeats in a spectacular way. It includes a gospel choir, percussionists, electric guitars, and more. It was recorded live in London at AIR Studios. We absolutely adore the energy in the video. This is one that we’ll have on repeat for a while. That’s for sure, honey!
The process was amazing and I’m happy we were able to connect. YUNGBLUD is an extremely talented musician and the fact that he creates something totally different and raw is what made me intrigued about everything. I was really excited to fuse the sounds we both create into something amazing and I’m glad we did that.

It’s safe to say that this cover has blown us away. And talk about the element of surprise! We had no idea this track was coming out. But then again, isn’t that just like YUNGBLUD? He’s full of surprises and that’s just one of the many reasons why we adore him!
