aespa has had one of our favorite releases of 2023 with their mini-album, MY WORLD, and as soon as that era ended, it made us all the more excited for the future of the group. After an insane world tour, it’s now official: aespa are having a new comeback on November 10th with their fourth mini-album, Drama! aespa‘s music is truly timeless, but here are the songs we can’t stop listening to as we wait patiently for what will surely be on the short list of our 2023 sotys.
‘Hold On Tight’
One of the many things aespa knows how to do right is their soundtracks – because this isn’t the only song that is part of a soundtrack in our list. ‘Hold On Tight‘ was released as part of the Tetris Motion Picture, and how could we possibly explain the way aespa nail that vibe exceptionally well? Between the harmonies in the chorus, the production, their insane vocals, and everything in between, ‘Hold On Tight’ is an absolute banger.
‘ZOOM ZOOM’
If there’s one aespa song to get excited over, it’s ‘ZOOM ZOOM.’ The track is part of the Beyblade X soundtrack, and it is honestly such a blast to listen to this one. It’s fun, exciting, and lighthearted. Plus, it has a sick beat that we could never get tired of. It also feels like a new side of aespa, and we’re honestly obsessed with it.
‘Spicy’
aespa may have rewired our brains with the release of ‘Spicy’ earlier this year and the entire MY WORLD mini-album. ‘Spicy‘ is a strong contestant for our 2023 soty, and it might be one of our favorite aespa title tracks ever. We know. Strong statement. ‘Spicy’ is bright, confident, bold, and fits aespa so well. It was pop perfection, and we hope Drama takes that perfection to a whole other level – we know there’s nothing aespa can’t do.
‘Better Things’
‘Better Things‘ is the song that set the stage for aespa‘s newest comeback and the one we’ve had on repeat since its release. This song is bright, uplifting, sweet, yet empowering. And there are no words to explain just how addictive it is. The song simply gets better with every single listen. ‘Better Things‘ may be one of their best songs to date. It makes us all the more excited for the direction aespa will take with Drama.
