We’re Convinced That Friday The 13th Is A Pop Punk Stan’s Christmas: ‘Dumb’ Nirvana, Beauty School Dropout Album, & New blink-182!

Today is Friday the 13th and Jason Voorhees isn’t the only one celebrating today! When we say that this year’s Friday, the 13th, is stacked with pop-punk icons, we mean it! Artists like Beauty School Dropout and blink-182 have blessed us with new music and even a throwback or two, so let’s talk about it!

Nirvana — ‘Dumb’

Now, this one technically isn’t a new release, but we’re gonna love it for the rest of our lives, so it counts! Nirvana has just released a visualizer for their song ‘Dumb,’ and you know we’re living for it! Can you even blame us? Nirvana is emo royalty if you ask us. (Go on, ask us.)

‘Dumb’ was initially released in September of 1993, and guys… that was 30 years ago. (Feel old yet?) Anywho! Nirvana decided to bless us with some remastered goodness, starting with ‘Dumb!’ The entire In Utero: 30th Anniversary will be released on October 27th; get your emo tears ready!

Of course, we’ve got the visualizer for you!

Maggie Lindemann ft Siiickbrain — ‘deprecating’

Miss Maggie Lindemann, how we love you. Your music journey is indeed one of our favorites! You have continuously slayed the game from the beginning til now, and ‘deprecating’ is just further proof of that. We will never doubt the power of Maggie Lindemann; it’s too great.

This isn’t the first time that Maggie has collabed with Siiickbrain, and we’re crossing our fingers that it isn’t the last! These two artists consistently create magic together, and we never want to see it end. Every collaboration is so different, yet so familiar.

Haven’t listened to this absolute banger? We’ve got you covered!

The nostalgia this roundup is giving us is absolutely insane. Do you mean to tell us that it is 2023, and Nirvana and blink-182 are giving us music? Friday the 13th is actually a pop-punk fan’s Christmas! There’s no doubt about it; we’re convinced. It has to be an unspoken law we didn’t know about.

Not only did blink-182 just release their newest single, ‘FELL IN LOVE,’ but they’re also releasing a new album! That’s right, we said it—a new album. Mark your calendars because Spooky Season has another pop-punk release! October 20th marks the new blink-182 album, and we are stoked!

We listened to this track and ‘FELL IN LOVE,’ so now it’s your turn!

That checks almost every box of the perfect day if you think about it. It’s like they just knew we needed an album to complete the circle, and we’re glad they did!

The release of Beauty School Dropout’s sophomore album, READY TO EAT, has again changed our viewpoint on music. From ‘i loved you’ to ‘thanks for nothing,’ we sat there in absolute awe of the bangers that were given to us. Each song had us ready for the next, but we were praying that it never ended. READY TO EAT is a THP-certified hit!
