New year, new books! We at THP can’t wait to see what books we’ll get to read and review this year. 2023 had so many fantastic Sweet Reads. We even started Sweet Listens, a monthly audiobook column. Now, we’re more than ready for 2024!
If we went through a list of all the 2024 books we’re anticipating, we’d be here all day. So instead, we’ll give you 12 books we’re excited for in the first half of 2024!

There are very few things we at THP love more than diverse books. So, of course, we’re starting our list of anticipated 2024 books with RELIT: 16 Latinx Remixes Of Classic Stories. Edited by Sandra Proudman, RELIT is an anthology featuring 16 Latinx YA authors who reimagine classics like Frankenstein and myths like La Ciguapa. They breathe new life into these stories, adding fantasy and science-fiction elements while focusing on the intersectional Latinx experience. RELIT belongs on our 2024 TBR, and we’ll definitely be tuning in!

Another 2024 book we’re excited about in February is Susan Mallery’s latest novel, The Summer Book Club! In it, three women learn to take chances and navigate love, identity, and motherhood through their summer book club in Southern California. (A dream!) Our next 2024 release is the story of a girl named Audrey, the daughter of Camilla who became famous for writing a self-help book titled Letters to My Someday Daughter. Our last anticipated book of the first half of 2024 is Sloan Harlow’s novel, Everything We Never Said! This dark, romantic thriller follows Ella, a girl who blames herself for her best friend Hayley’s death. When Ella gets closer to Hayley’s boyfriend, Sawyer, she soon realizes she’s actually in love with him. But as Ella goes through Hayley’s old journal, she uncovers some of Sawyer’s secrets. Who knows what else she doesn’t know about him? We can already imagine the plot twists in Everything We Never Said.
