It’s official! TXT has tied with BTS to become the second K-Pop act to land on the BILLBOARD 200 album chart ten times!
Their latest album, minisode 3: TOMORROW, just hit the number 3 spot with 103,500 sales, making it also the top-selling album of the week. TXT now has five albums that have reached the top five of the chart, which is extra impressive when you remember they’ve only been around for five years. Maybe there’s something in that number…
TXT’s ten entries in the BILLBOARD 200 are made up of seven of their Korean albums, and three of their Japanese releases. However, with this tenth entry being for their tenth Korean release and tenth era, we figured the best way to celebrate this record would be to celebrate TXT’s history! From The Dream Chapter: STAR to minisode 3: TOMORROW, here is a TXT performance to celebrate each of TXT’s eras and each of their BILLBOARD 200 entries!
The Dream Chapter: STAR
TXT debuted with an entry on the BILLBOARD 200, and it only took them 10 days to get their first music show win, too! This ‘CROWN’ performance doesn’t have a ton of views, but as it’s from that special day, we think it’s pretty iconic!
The Dream Chapter: MAGIC
Yeah, we’re technically cheating with this one. This performance of MAGIC’s title track was technically in the Blue Hour era, but who’s gonna stop us? In our not-so-humble opinion, the fact that this performance only has 110K views is criminal. This rendition of ‘Run Away,’ featuring traditional Korean instrumentation and the members wearing hanboks, is absolutely breathtaking.
The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY
One of the most impressive things about TXT’s ETERNITY era is that they promoted so many b-sides! They’re also the original kings of Studio Choom’s BE ORIGINAL series, so naturally, this performance of ‘PUMA’ slays!
minisode1: Blue Hour
This is one of TXT’s most-viewed performances, and for good reason! It has one of the most dreamy sets we’ve ever seen, and these music video fits will never be anything but iconic.
The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE
‘0X1=LOVESONG’ will always be That Song! It’s so beloved by MOAs and casual fans alike, and the rock influence lends itself so well to this live band version! The TXT members have vocals for daaaaaays.
The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE
Whether you’re talking about the FIGHT OR ESCAPE era or their whole career, this is one of our favorite TXT performances! It encapsulates the anarchic sense of humor that we absolutely love in tubatu!
minisode 2: Thursday’s Child
The leather was on, the eyeliner was on, and the mics were on! TXT’s vocals in this ‘Good Boy Gone Bad’ performance are so strong (as ever!). Their appearances on The Kelly Clarkson Show are always worth a watch, or five.
The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION
The era to end all eras! TEMPTATION scored TXT their first BILLBOARD 200 number one, and they gained a legion of new fans, too. This era might be better known for the iconic ‘Sugar Rush Ride,’ but coupling track ‘Devil By The Window’ is a stunner.
The Name Chapter: FREEFALL
Us 🤝 Soobin = loving ‘Skipping Stones.’ This Tiny Desk performance of three songs from FREEFALL is gorgeous. Even more so, it’s a great way to celebrate TXT’s third BILLBOARD 200 entry in 2023.
minisode 3: TOMORROW
If the nostalgia of this list isn’t enough to make you tear up, then maybe the ‘Deja Vu’ of this one will! TXT’s last music show promotion coincided with Yeonjun’s last day of hosting duties on INKIGAYO. Tears were flowing (his and ours), and the members mouthing “MOA” just before the lyrics, “I promise you, over and over, my future is you.” Well, how can you expect us to not cry?
