Harry Styles And New York: A Love Story Leading Up To Harry’s House

It’s become a tradition for Harry Styles to celebrate his album releases with an exclusive, one-night show in a different city. For Fine Line, it was Los Angeles, California then a small show in London for his UK fans. And for Harry’s House, which comes out later this month, it’s New York, NY!

If you’ve been keeping up with Harry’s music, you’ll know that he’s referenced NYC on several songs so far. Here are some notable references to the city in his work!

‘Kiwi’

The energetic ‘Kiwi’ oversees a chaotic relationship that seemingly takes place in New York, with references to some not-so-legal activities. With how up-and-down this relationship sounds, it’s no surprise that it takes place in the city that never sleeps. And of course, such an electrifying city is the perfect place for a high-octane romance!

“It’s New York, baby, always jacked up
Holland Tunnel for a nose, it’s always backed up”

‘Ever Since New York’

This one is pretty on-the-nose, but ‘Ever Since New York’ is undoubtedly one of the prettiest songs on Harry Styles and in Harry’s discography as a whole. Supposedly, it’s about a time when he got bad news about a family member while he was in NYC, so it’s pretty bittersweet, but we appreciate his vulnerability and openness in his music.

“And I’ve been praying, I never did before
Understand I’m talking to the walls
I’ve been praying ever since New York”

Harry even performed the track on Saturday Night Live for its live debut, and SNL is a New York staple since it’s filmed near Rockefeller Center.

BONUS: Sirius XM & Pandora Secret Session

Back in 2020, Harry played an intimate show in Brooklyn in partnership with Pandora and Sirius XM. He talked about his music, his experiences in the spotlight, and more, and even performed songs like ‘Sign of the Times’ and ‘Adore You!’ We’re not jealous of everyone who got to go, why would we be jealous…? 😳
