You Need To Keep An Eye On These 5 Alternative Artists

Wanna refresh your playlists with some of the hottest rising acts in music? Trying to find someone new and unique that deserves a spot on your stan list? Honey, you already know we’ve got you! We rounded up five of the best and brightest upcoming voices on the alternative scene, so get ready to be amazed.

phem

You may already know phem from their collabs with artists like iann dior, but you’ve never heard them quite like on their latest track, the chaotically energetic ‘brkdwn.’ It’s got all the makings of a classic phem song: it’s high-octane and the lyrics will make you feel less alone in anything you’re going through, but it’s also a step into a new phase of phem‘s career where they’re more powerful, and uniquely phem, than ever. It also doesn’t hurt that phem is now officially part of the Hopeless Records family – congrats to a legend!

There’s no denying that each and every one of us has struggled emotionally, mentally, physically or had some hardship within the last two years or so. I wanted to create an anthem that could allow us to celebrate our pain together, and flip it into something positive.

Cherie Amour

Looking for your new favorite band? Your search is over, we already found it in Cherie Amour! This four-piece has an eclectic charm that brings together elements of everything from pop to rock and hip-hop. With songs like their newest offering, ‘Love’s Not Your Thing’, and our previous fave, ‘Sin City,’ they’re making their mark on the alt and pop-punk scenes in a fresh new way that will constantly keep you on your toes.

This is another one we pulled from the OLTL (our previous band) era of demos and it’s actually the track that helped us pick a new band name. It’s about finding someone you like and getting to know them over the course of a few dates but you realize they’re the type of person that likes to keep up drama in a relationship, otherwise they classify it as ‘boring’. I really liked the use of ‘c’est la vie’ here because it feels like a verbal shrug, accepting that this person’s thrills won’t change. Sometimes in life, it just is what it is.

TITUS

You know a song is a future classic if a member of Good Charlotte approves, and not only did that happen for TITUS, but Billy Martin even joined him for a feature on ‘Cool!’ Every moment of this track feels new and exciting, with the prospect of TITUS’ future being even more exciting, if that’s even possible. He’ll be announcing details about his next EP soon, so stay tuned!

This is a song I wish I had in my library when I was in high school. Identifying and mocking the overinflated ego, that drives a human to believe they are too cool to be accepting of others.

midwxst

Sure, midwxst may have moved out of the midwest in favor of a New York state of mind this year, but he’s even more midwxst than ever! No one puts together an edgy-yet-chill, defiantly upbeat track quite like him, and tracks like the Sad Summer anthem ‘broken’ are the ultimate proof. He’s quickly making a name for himself as one of the most boundary-pushing artists on the alt scene and it’s time you buckle in for the ride.
