Busted’s Greatest Hits 2.0 Is The Perfect Bridge Between Pop-Punk Legends Of Old and New

It’s finally here; Busted has just dropped Greatest Hits 2.0, an album chock-full of updated versions of classic songs. Better yet, they’ve given us a double album! Greatest Hits 2.0 (Guest Features Edition) brings a whole host of artists on board to help our favorite trio reimagine our Busted faves.

The featured artists are all icons in the world of pop-punk that perfectly branches the distance between millennial icons and rising stars. There’s truly someone for everyone on the album, and it brings new life to the songs we’ve all grown up with. It’s such a fun idea to incorporate these artists so we thought we’d take you through some of our favorite collaborations on the album. There are so many bangers that it was almost impossible to choose just a few, but we’ve done our best!

‘Loser Kid 2.0’ – featuring Simple Plan

You might remember us raving about this when the single first dropped in March; we even got to chat with the Busted lads about it, so check that out if you haven’t already! But this iconic collaboration needed another moment of recognition. We’ve spent most of the summer blasting it on every road trip and wanted to spread the joy, so if you haven’t heard it already go get on it!

‘Year 3000 2.0’ – featuring Jonas Brothers

It’s been the cross-Atlantic debate of the last decade; who knows ‘Year 3000’ as a Jonas Brothers song or a Busted classic, the answer really depends on where you heard it first. (Every Brit knows the answer, but it’s okay if you were a Jo Bros introductory back in the day.) So you can imagine the chaos when the two bands performed it together for the first time in 2019. Thankfully they’re letting us relive the iconic moment with the re-recorded ‘Year 3000’ feature. There’s no way they possibly could’ve chosen anyone but the Jo Bros for this song and we love them for it.

‘Everything I Knew 2.0’ – featuring Dashboard Confessional

Do we need to say much else? It’s THE Dashboard Confessional, one of the most iconic bands of the 2000s. ‘Everything I Knew’ was always one of our favorites on the original album, so of course, we were stoked to find out Dashboard was jumping on the update.

‘You Said No 2.0’ – featuring Charlotte Sands

You know that we love a bit of Charlotte Sands here at THP HQ, we love that she’s on the album repping it for the ladies. The pop-punk genre has historically been dominated by men but over the past few years we’ve seen more and more incredible female artists coming through and having that represented on the revamped album feels pretty awesome. Not to mention Charlotte‘s vocals on the track are incredibly impressive and add a really interesting element to the Busted classic.

‘Thunderbirds Are Go 2.0’ – featuring McFly

We know. We just couldn’t leave this out. It feels like a McBusted throwback (with Charlie on board this time, of course) and something we could only have hoped for in our childhood dreams. ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’ is such a fun song and brings back memories of watching the 2004 Thunderbirds film as a kid. Both McFly and Busted had huge parts in shaping our lifelong taste in music and seeing them come together is always going to be special.

Other artists on the record include the likes of Neck Deep, The Vamps, Bowling for Soup, and Wheatus to name but a few! It really is stacked with legends. We know the Busted gang is in a nail-biting race for their first number-one album this week. Is it finally going to happen? It would be about time! Good luck to the band; we know we’ll be streaming the album for a long time to come.

If you’re like us and are dying to see the songs live, we’ve got good news for you. There are still a handful of tickets for their remaining shows across the UK and Ireland which ends on October 10th. We’ve got our tickets for next week, and we have it on good authority that it’s a show of epic proportions. Don’t miss out on this!
