It’s been six months since the release of (G)I-DLE‘s second full-length album, 2, and its iconic title track ‘Super Lady.’ And if we’re being honest, we’re still not over it. It actually seems like no one is because the b-side ‘Fate‘ is still charting everywhere in Korea after earning them their fourth PAK over a month after its release. The success of (G)I-DLE this year cannot even be measured – they’re everywhere. And they’re about to take over once again because (G)I-DLE is back to own the summer with their seventh mini-album, I SWAY, and its title track, ‘Klaxon.’ 2024 will be another (G)I-DLE summer, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

‘Klaxon’
(G)I-DLE have been known to drop some of our favorite summer songs over the years. Last year, they owned everyone’s summer with ‘Queencard.’ So, of course, a summer (G)I-DLE comeback always means a new anthem, and this year it’s ‘Klaxon.’ (G)I-DLE bring us back to the 80s with this new comeback. ‘Klaxon’ gives a fun summery vibe right from the start. It’s flirty, witty, and addicting in a way you wouldn’t expect. ‘Klaxon’ represents a summer sun. (G)I-DLE are all about having fun this time and enjoying the summer. It’s carefree, fun, and bright, and its music video makes the song even more captivating with its colorful and unique styling. This music video is another one for the books. ‘Klaxon’ is an instant summer banger, as expected from (G)I-DLE.
I SWAY
(G)I-DLE‘s b-sides are always a highlight in their releases – and I SWAY is no different. The members wrote, composed, and produced everything. With Soyeon being the mastermind behind ‘Klaxon,’ the first b-side in this mini-album is ‘Last Forever,’ a song written and composed by Yuqi. ‘Last Forever’ is a beautiful and vulnerable song full of hope. It’s all about their ambition to reach their dreams, as well as their love for their music, their craft, and, of course, the group. ‘Last Forever‘ is an emotional one, but one that is full of passion, hope and beauty.
‘Bloom’ is the song in I SWAY that was written by Minnie. This one brings all the freshness into the mini-album with its city-pop, laid-back atmosphere. ‘Bloom’ is a sweet love song that is perfect for summertime. It is followed by probably one of (G)I-DLE‘s most special songs yet: ‘Neverland’ – named after their fandom. Yuqi and Miyeon wrote the lyrics, and Yuqi produced and composed the track. ‘Neverland’ is all about mutual support and love. It expresses in the most beautiful and magical way the tight bond between (G)I-DLE and their fans. With an acoustic guitar, ‘Neverland’ is emotional and hopeful and feels as warm as a hug. It is the perfect song to wrap up a mini-album that will leave its mark in everyone’s summer. (G)I-DLE aren’t even close to being done owning 2024.
