If there’s one thing that 5 Seconds of Summer does right, it’s creating electrifying tunes! The band announced an indefinite hiatus after their The 5 Seconds of Summer Show tour wrapped up in 2023. Even with that, the band couldn’t stay away from a recording studio. Questions about the band resurfacing came after fans received mysterious mini dice and a candle teasing a single named ‘Lighter.’ (Seriously, how do we get on the 5sos superfan mailing list?) ‘Lighter’ is a new sound exploration for the band in collaboration with Galantis and David Guetta!
The pop-rock band has tapped into an adventurous soundscape with this ultra-danceable electronic single. ‘Lighter’ is markedly an entirely different approach to the music that 5sos has made as a band. Albeit, it’s a hot hit. ‘Lighter’ is a refreshing reminder of the versatility and range of talent that the band carries. The single is an energetic, magnetic, and synth-filled galactic daydream!
You’ll get lost in the bright and dynamic strings, the powerful drums, and, of course, the sharp and distinct vocals from the band. ‘Lighter’ is a song meant to ascend you into another reality with a breezy, color-filled, danceable experience.
