B.I. is a name we haven’t seen on a new song for a good while, two years to be exact. Besides his feature on Epik High’s latest album, EPIK HIGH IS HERE in January, the young idol rapper has been silent after he departed from iKON in June 2019. Now, we would be lying if we said we haven’t been tracking the idols every little move. We, here at The Honey POP, are huge iKONICS and have been hoping to get B.I. back on the music scene, one way or the another. After chasing down crumbs from Hanbin releasing demos on his SoundCloud to following his amazing charity work, the day is here.
Today, we are finally celebrating B.I.’s return as an artist with ‘Midnight Blue.’ Love Streaming is B.I.’s first solo single album and all of its profits will be going through World Vision to children in need all around the world.
If that doesn’t make you want to watch the music video or listen to Hanbin’s new songs we don’t know what will! We can’t get enough of ‘Midnight Blue’ and the comforting feeling it leaves behind. ‘Midnight Blue’ feels like a warm embrace with its soft piano instrumental and Hanbin’s beautiful soft vocals and rap. The lyrics tell fans about how he has been feeling these past two years during his absence and they resonated with listeners. The lines “My pain that no one knows about becomes nothing / everyone seems to live like that / with a bruised heart / making a face that seems fine,” are sure to make even the rarest crier among you tear up.
B.I. Gives Back Through World Vision
‘Midnight Blue’ might feel familiar to you as B.I. had already released the demo version of the song on his SoundCloud. The other two songs featuring on the Love Streaming album carry the same feeling, as both are fully mastered and mixed versions of demos he also pre-released on SoundCloud. ‘Remember Me’ and ‘Blossom’ are both stunning in their final forms. Kim Hanbin truly has a way with music, which is so rare. His music truly makes you feel something deep inside you. The lyrics are so relatable and hit home. You can’t help but root for B.I and his bright future, which is still ahead of him.
B.I. is the best boy of the moment and so we had to share our excitement over his new album with you! Since Hanbin is now a director at IOK Company and has his own sub-label called 131 Label, the world is his oyster. We, here at The Honey POP are so proud of how far B.I. has come and can’t wait to see what is next.
