If you wanna claim your faves are all-rounder idols, they can’t just be talented in the realms of vocals, rap, dance, and songwriting; they need to be great on-camera and in variety content, too! Luckily for MOA, TXT never disappoint, and they are absolute kings on variety shows, both their own and as guests.
Today, though, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the king of chaos, Beomgyu! Despite his naturally introverted personality, everybody knows that when the camera is on, the menace begins.
TO DO Episode 5
Where else could we start, other than with the scream that started a thousand memes? This episode is from not long after their debut, so if early fans had any confusion about TXT’s personalities in the beginning, this surely would’ve cleared that up. You can pretty much guarantee a repeat of “O-RAN-GEE-POLICE” in any funny moments compilation.
Idol Human Theater 2021
You can’t talk about Beomgyu’s chaotic moments without mentioning the 313 times he’s poked fun at Yeonjun’s raps. This ‘LO$ER=LOVER’ era episode is hilarious, and Beomgyu is as relentless as ever.
Silence Of Idol 2022
Chaotic Beomgyu at his finest, literally running circles around people. Spoiler alert: this episode was such a mess that the next time TXT appeared on the show, the production had blocked the gaps in the walls so Beomgyu couldn’t run through them any more.
WORKMAN2 Kids Cafe
We didn’t know we needed to see Beomgyu decorating paper butterflies and raking dirt in his socks, but we absolutely did. Where’s the petition to have each TXT member on this show?
TO DO Episodes 72 & 73
In this piece of TXT variety content, Beomgyu was so funny that Yeonjun felt compelled to get out his phone and record him, too. Imagine laughing so hard that you forget there are about a dozen cameras and a whole production crew right next to you! In Yeonjun’s defense, Beomgyu was unrivalled in his levels of menace behavior, and if we had been trying to collect those flowers, we would’ve been legit scared of him.
Idol Human Theater 2022
Whatever chaos was awoken in Beomgyu this day is something we should all be afraid of. Imagine screaming from a balcony that the CEO of your company needs to buy you more beef?! Only Beomgyu could get away with that.
Showterview with Jessi
We didn’t have a K-Pop idol saying “F*** COVID-19” on a variety show on our bingo card, but where Beomgyu is concerned, we should’ve expected it. Maybe better known for the iconic ‘Watermelon Squad,’ it should be highlighted that Jessi called Gyu out for talking back only six minutes in to this Showterview episode.
TO DO Episodes 80 & 81
We all know TO DO is lowkey one of the funniest variety shows of all time, in fact we’ve made that very clear here, and it makes sense that Beomgyu is responsible for a lot of meme-worthy moments! However, him genuinely losing his mind over a fast-typing game (referred by a staff member wearing a dog mask, long story) is top-tier. He was screaming and swearing so much that they had to mute the whole scene.
N-POP Episodes 7 & 8
An impression of Kep1er’s BAHIYYIH so good, that even she couldn’t complain about it. TXT appeared on this new variety show in the FREEFALL era, and the games were as good as the performances! Beomgyu mimicking how Hiyyih tells Kai off when he’s playing games on his phone has us, and TXT, in hysterics.
