The WWWY Fest 2023 lineup was absolutely stacked. It brought back memories of Warped Tour when you had to strategically plan out your day and see how fast you could make it to another stage to see another one of your favorite bands. Luckily, we got to see a ton of amazing performances throughout the day! It was hard, but we narrowed it down to eight of our favorite sets. We have a lot to cover, so let’s dive right in.

Magnolia Park

We kicked off the day with one of our absolute faves, Magnolia Park! There was so much amazing energy from both the band and the crowd. Seeing them live got us even more hyped for their new album, Halloween Mixtape II. We’re so happy that they were on the WWWY Fest lineup because now even more people know how amazing they are!

Knuckle Puck

Next up was our beloved band, Knuckle Puck. Even though they played an earlier set in the day, they really brought their A-game. They recently released their album, Losing What We Love, and getting to hear those songs on the WWWY Fest stage was a treat! They are heading out on tour very soon and we are so excited to get to be in a Knuckle Puck pit again.

Something Corporate

We’re gonna be honest. This was one of the sets we were looking forward to the most. Now, frontman Andrew McMahon has performed some Something Corporate songs at his AMITW shows. But he hasn’t performed them with the rest of Something Corporate since their reunion tour in 2010. So, it was actually a privilege to see them perform live in the year 2023. With it being the middle of the afternoon, it was hot. But it didn’t stop us and the rest of the crowd from going hard and singing our emo hearts out.

Yellowcard

Next on the Green Stage was the OG YC, Yellowcard! Yes, we went to the 20th Anniversary Ocean Avenue Tour, but we’ll never pass up an opportunity to see them live. We loved hearing both new and old songs on the setlist. Oh, and a few special guests made appearances for songs, including, Cassadee Pope! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2024…

Citizen

Citizen was another must-see for us. We vibed to new songs from Calling The Dogs. But also, we may or may not have cried to ‘The Night I Drove Alone.’ Even though they formed in the 2010s, Citizen is still nostalgic for us. (Who else remembers reblogging edits with their lyrics on Tumblr?) We can’t wait to see them again on their fall tour.

5SOS

If you know us at all, you know we were in that 5SOS pit. Even though we had just saw them on their US Tour, we were ready to go hard to them again. It was hot and we were sweaty, but we had the time of our lives. We even got to crowd surf and we never thought we’d be able to say that about a 5SOS set.

Waterparks

So not only did we get to see our faves, 5SOS, but we also got to see Waterparks a couple of hours later. They recently released their song, ‘SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN,’ along with the music video and we were the first crowd in the US to hear the song live. It’s definitely one of our favorite songs now. Although no song can top how hard we can go to ‘FUNERAL GREY’ and ‘F*CK ABOUT IT.’

blink-182

We’re gonna be real. These are not the same bodies that survived a day at Warped Tour with a bottle of water and a chicken tender. We were beyond exhausted, but it would’ve been a disservice to skip their set because growing up listening to blink-182 is a universal pop punk experience. It was surreal to hear songs that were the soundtrack to our teenage years and songs from their new album, ONE MORE TIME, released the day prior. No matter what our age is, they will ‘Always’ have a special place in our hearts. It was a truly incredible way to end the night, or at least before seeing Green Day.
