With pop-punk making a mainstream resurgence over the past few years, it’s impossible not to acknowledge the 90s-2000s legends who have influenced this generation of artists. And two of the most influential acts are undoubtedly Blink-182 and Green Day! It just so happens that they’ll be co-headlining the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas in 2023, so what better time to revisit their catalogs?
Get your old Vans and Walkman, because we’re going back in time. Let’s dive right in!
Blink-182
‘EDGING’
Of course, we have to start with the glorious comeback song that is ‘EDGING!’ This track marked the first Blink release in almost ten years to have Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker involved, and we’re ecstatic to see this dynamic trio back together. ‘EDGING’ brings back the signature Blink-182 sound we all know and love while pushing the band into new territory – they’re poised for world domination yet again.
I wanted to imagine as a listener what I wanted to experience and at the same time as a band member what we wanted to make and say and most importantly how it would sound production wise in 2022.

‘What’s My Age Again?’
Ah, the national anthem of 23-year-olds anywhere. This would be a perfect choice for their setlist at the ’23 When We Were Young Fest! ‘What’s My Age Again?’ has become a staple of Blink’s discography and for good reason – it’s catchy and packs a punch with a ton of replay value.
‘All The Small Things’
Come on, we couldn’t round up Blink’s career highlights without including this! The success of ‘All The Small Things’ has been anything but small, racking up nearly 750 million Spotify streams and over 300 million YouTube views over the years. It’s a must-have on any classic pop-punk or throwback playlists.
Green Day
‘You Irritate Me’
We haven’t had ‘You Irritate Me’ in our lives for long, but it’s already one of our favorite Green Day tracks! It’s a demo that didn’t make the final cut for their Nimrod album, but now that the 25th anniversary has hit, they’ve blessed us with the audio. They’re even giving us a special edition of Nimrod in January to celebrate, so make sure you pre-order and pre-save that right here.
‘Basket Case’
Is there anyone who doesn’t instantly want to scream along when they hear “do you have the time to listen to me whine?” We think not! ‘Basket Case’ is a fan-favorite for a reason, and it’s currently their top-streamed song on Spotify. This song has such a great vibe and it’s ridiculously catchy, so you’re in for a treat.
‘Bang Bang’
Personally, we think everyone moved on a little too fast from the banger that is ‘Bang Bang!’ This 2016 track has such a unique energy while raising awareness for gun violence in an eye and ear-catching way. It summarizes the frustration that so many people feel in the face of bad news and packs a punch as one of Green Day’s standout songs.
