Gen Z-ers, make some noise! We just got a collab from two of the best Gen Z artists in the business; TXT and iann dior! TOMORROW X TOGETHER are K-Pop’s 4th Gen It Boys and have proved it with their incredible success in 2022. Their most recent album, minisode 2: Thursday’s Child, reached number four on the Billboard 200, and their first-ever world tour, ACT: LOVE SICK, sold out instantly. Now TXT are adding to all this, with the release of ‘Valley of Lies (feat. iann dior)!’
Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai certainly keep MOA busy! We’ve been blessed with ‘Valley of Lies,’ they’ll be performing at Lollapalooza next weekend, and we have a Japanese release coming up. And we get all this whilst TXT continue to promote their smash hit ‘Good Boy Gone Bad!’ This brand new collab came at the perfect time, as TXT are just finishing up the U.S. leg of their sold-out world tour ACT: LOVE SICK.
TXT have definitely established themselves as some of the most prominent Gen Z voices in K-Pop with their intricate (and confusing) storylines and relatable lyricism. ‘Valley of Lies’ is no different! Lyrically, the song follows on similarly from minisode 2: Thursday’s Child, documenting the loss of trust and the end of a relationship. Production-wise though, it’s upbeat and summery! ‘Valley of Lies’ is a great example of the fusion between hip-hop and pop-punk influences that both TXT and iann dior are known for!
And to make it even better? Alongside iann dior, one of the writers of ‘Valley of Lies’ was TXT’s very own Yeonjun. Look, we don’t call him the 4th Gen It Boy for no reason! Like all of TXT, Yeonjun’s songwriting skills seem to evolve with every release; we love how he effortlessly tackled his rap in ‘Valley of Lies.’
Plus, for Yeonjun, being the perfect all-rounder that he is, writing and performing on ‘Valley of Lies’ just wasn’t enough. He also created the TikTok dance for it! MOA, it’s time to get your dancing shoes on…
We couldn’t be happier that two of our fave Gen Z artists have come together on ‘Valley of Lies!’ It’s the perfect track for walking the streets with your headphones in, and you’ll probably catch us doing that all summer long.
