Hello, honey bees who have a taste for the best honey, aka K-POP. It is time again for a new installment of your favorite THP feature – our K-POP HOTSPOT! So much happened this month, from debuts to comebacks and more, so this K-POP roundup is packed! Before we dive in, make sure to check out the comebacks we already covered, such as LAY ZHANG, SVT JUN, KEP1ER, NMIXX, IVE, BLACKPINK, THE ROSE, SOLE, PENTAGON, RAVI, JACKSON WANG, JAEJOONG, BTOB CHANGSUB, RM, EXO XIUMIN, ONEUS, NCT 127, EXID, and LOONA.
Besides these amazing comebacks, we also have more news on where you can see your faves live! BTS are about to host WORLD EXPO 2030 BUSAN KOREA CONCERT BTS <Yet To Come> in Busan Asiad Main Stadium (attention, the location changed to this stadium only recently!). Not only will the boys be live on stage but HYBE announced that there will also be The City project going on throughout Busan with various entertainment activations and events. The first event we are most excited about starts on October 5th with the photo exhibition 2022 BTS EXHIBITION : Proof that will take us down memory lane through BTS’ career.
But BTS aren’t the only ones making October that much sweeter! ENHYPEN are about to hit the US for their tour and to make the start of it even sweeter they added a second date for their Anaheim stop on October 3rd. (Make sure to get your tickets ENGENE!) Another one of our favorites who is coming to tour soon is Jamie, our girl will start her tour in Los Angeles on October 10th and you can grab tickets here!
Well, with October looking already exciting especially after one of our fave girl groups LE SSERAFIM just dropped the new trailer for their upcoming EP ANTIFRAGILE (out October 17th btw) and a new variety IN THE SOOP : Friendcation (starring Park Seojun, Peakboy, Choi Wooshik, Park Hyungsik and BTS V) starting to stream exclusively on Disney+ on October 19. We have a couple of milestones to celebrate this month as well! BLACKPINK graced us with another comeback in September and the girls have been making history! Their biggest achievement yet is hitting number one on the album charts in the US. This win with BORN PINK makes them the first girl group to top the Billboard 200 chart since 2008. We are so proud of our girls for this one!
A small other thing we can’t believe happened last month is when Peter Do teamed up with SM artists for the SS23 New York Fashion Week Show. Did y’all see NCT’s Jeno, Red Velvet’s Seulgi, and SM ROOKIES Shohei and Eunseok absolutely slay? We were dying when we saw those looks and we can’t believe K-POP has come so far that our fave idols are now walking down some of the world’s biggest runways. Wowza!
Okay, we are done, promise! Now, let’s get into many more amazing comebacks and debuts from September.
Kim Jaehwan has done it again with his beautiful voice! He knows his vocals are fit for the rock genre and so Jaehwan blessed us with yet another anthem-like rock ballad. ‘Back Then’ will make you bop and cry at the same time. Doesn’t hurt that Jaehwan looks stunning in the music video. This man is a true rockstar. Oh also give the album Empty Dream a listen as it is another no-skip one.
BUSTERS are out here providing us with the refreshing girly concepts we have been waiting for. The music video for ‘Broken Clock’ is more than stunning as it invites us to a magical world. We really have fallen in love with BUSTERS and can only hope that more people will be paying attention to them!
What. A. Comeback. Kangta is back with his fourth studio album, Eyes On You, which is also his first full album since 2005! And in case your playlist is missing some soft, slow jams, this album is full of them! The title track, ‘Eyes On You,’ is a smooth and sensual song about two lovers dancing together. Kangta’s vocals are so on point, and we couldn’t take OUR eyes off him in the music video!
Whether it’s solo singles or group comebacks, OnlyOneOf music is just to our taste. And their new Japanese single, ‘ズルい女,’ is no exception! ‘ズルい女’ is a farewell to a cheating lover. Even though you loved them so much, you were happy to have the experience. And as sad as that sounds, this song has such a refreshing vibe that makes us feel at peace. It amazes us how everything OnlyOneOf has put out this year has been a masterpiece!
WEKI MEKI CHOI YOOJUNG
The time has come! WEKI MEKI and former I.O.I member Choi Yoojung finally gets her solo debut! We always knew this girl had the all-rounder abilities to tackle the K-POP scene not only with her group, which makes bops, but also as a solo artist. And ‘Sunflower’ is the most Yoojung-sounding song ever! The old-school vibes are here, the vocals are here and the hip-hop groove is here to fit Yoojung’s dancing. We love it and can’t wait for what’s to come!
The time has come again we have to say goodbye to another legendary girl group.. DIA dropped ‘The blinding past’ this month and while we had the feeling this music video wasn’t just supposed to make us nostalgic, we were still saddened by the news of DIA’s disbandment with their 7 year anniversary being upon us. We will miss you DIA.
SORN & YEEUN
Sorn is back with a new solo song, and it’s a BOP! ‘Nirvana Girl’ has a groovy beat paired with Sorn’s addictive vocals, and did we mention it features Yeeun? ‘Nirvana Girl’ is about growing into your true self and fulfilling your destiny, which is a message we definitely needed to hear! Not only do we get a lovely reunion with Sorn and Yeeun (plus Seungyeon’s cameo), but the track is entirely in English! Yup, so is Yeeun’s rap.
Summer Cake is back with a show-stopping new single album, Potion! She co-wrote and co-composed each of the three tracks, which explains why it feels tailored to her sweet vocals. The title track ‘Potion’ puts us under a magical spell with its hypnotic instrumentals, and we’re obsessed with how smoothly her voice flows. The two b-sides ‘I’m Done’ and ‘Carrier’ have the best vibes. What else can we ask for? We have no choice but to stan Summer Cake, and we’re sure you will too after listening to Potion!
Mimiirose are finally here with their AWESOME debut song ‘Rose.’ You might have missed this one as the girls made their debut amongst huge names such as NCT 127 and BLACKPINK but nonetheless they deserve your love for providing us with such a fun new song. ‘Rose’ is the girl group sound we absolutely love and enjoy!
Name a song that screams, “This is the main character’s soundtrack.” We’ll give you one: it’s RoaD-B’s latest single ‘Icarus!’ The members sing about jumping into a new love and pursuing it with all they have. They don’t know if they’re flying or falling, which is a genius reference to the story of Icarus! It’s the perfect song for a fresh start after the group rebranded earlier this year.
LAPILLUS know how to get the party started with their first comeback. ‘GRATATA’ has everything we love about girl crush concepts and music! The girls invite us to a party that will get your hips moving and your spirits lifted! Let’s give them all the love as ‘GRATATA’ is sure to be stuck in your head.
We wouldn’t mind being in a traffic jam if it was because of Crush! His new single. ‘Rush Hour,’ featuring j-hope of BTS, has that old-school hip-hop sound that’s impossible not to dance to. But the choreography makes it even harder not to dance along with everyone in the music video! Crush truly shows off his versatility with this phenomenal track, and j-hope’s verse meshes with the song so well! ‘Rush Hour’ is a perfect collab in our book.

CRAVITY has made a big splash with their fourth mini album, NEW WAVE! CRAVITY show their versatility with this new album by providing songs that transcend many genres such as pop, alternative, soul, funk, R&B, EDM, and Hip-Hop. There really is a song for everyone to enjoy on NEW WAVE! CRAVITY has shown yet again with this comeback why they should be on everyone’s radar.
MIRAE brought us a blast from the past this month with their new EP and title song ‘Drip N’ Drop.’ If you need a new hype song for your workout playlist then these boys got you! We had to wait a tiny bit to see these young talented boys make a comeback but it was all worth it because with this new song they sound and look amazing and have us more than excited for what’s to come next. ‘Drip N’ Drop,’ is the power anthem our playlist needed.
Are we ready for a new unlimited-member girl group? Because LIMELIGHT are about to be here to invite us to their amazing concept! Before their official debut, the girls have offered us not one but two pre-debut singles. ‘Starlight’ and ‘Eye To Eye’ offer us two different looks at the girl’s musical abilities and we love what we are hearing! One thing is for sure we are excited to hear what this group has in store for us once they make their official debut!
VIXX HYUK FT. SEO INGUK
Put two handsome singers and actors into a room and studio and you get what we call magic. VIXX’s Hyuk has teamed up with Seo Inguk for a fantastic chill autumn ballad single. Not only is the music video giving us all the fall vibes too but the song itself feels like a warm blanket on a rainy afternoon. ‘Stay For Me’ is giving us literally butterflies when we are listening to it and we think that was the two boys’ goal! We are definitely obsessed with these soft vocals!
TO LEARN MORE ABOUT SEO INGUK:
Before the king of R&B-influenced music comes to us next month, he has offered us a small taste with the new pre-release single ‘Moon&Back.’ And let us just tell you this alluring mysterious song is it! We have never seen someone walk more elegantly as Jihoon does in the music video for this single and his vocals are smooth and laid back and sold ‘Moon&Back’ to us immediately. This single just got us extra hyped for the upcoming comeback!
