You cast your votes, now let’s jump right into our official ranking!
50. STAYC – ‘SO BAD’
Imagine having a debut song as iconic as ‘SO BAD’ by STAYC. We’ll never miss a chance to sing along to “STAYC girls, it’s going down!” The girls slayed from the music video visuals to the vocals. It’s one of our go-to karaoke songs and rightfully deserves a spot on the list of most iconic K-Pop songs, even if it’s one of the more recent ones! – Julie
49. LOONA – ‘Butterfly’
LOONA made K-Pop history in more than one way, and ‘Butterfly’ is definitely one of those ways. The choreography was breathtaking and still hasn’t left our minds, and more than anything, ‘Butterfly’ exemplifies better than any song the power of LOONA as 12. Their discography and unique concept felt fresh and new, and they brought something we all needed into the scene. Its perfect mixture of emotion and EDM, with perfect vocals and perfect production, makes ‘Butterfly’ forever timeless. – Juu
48. BoA – ‘Atlantis Princess’
Of course we needed the Queen of K-Pop on a list of iconic K-Pop songs! Listening to BoA’s 2003 track, ‘Atlantis Princess,’ feels like a warm hug welcoming us after a long day. Her third studio album is full of hits, and we’re reminiscing and reliving these throwbacks. She’s forever our inspiration, and there’s no denying her impact on the rise of K-Pop! – Julie
47. S.E.S. – ‘Dreams Come True’
Trust us when we say you don’t know the definition of “old but gold” until you’ve heard ‘Dreams Come True’ by S.E.S. This dreamy, hypnotic track came out in 1998, meaning it’s older than so many of today’s idols. S.E.S. was really the blueprint for K-Pop. No matter the rank on this list, we know S.E.S. and this song will remain iconic for years to come! – Julie
46. SuperM – ‘Jopping’
It’s been nearly six years and we’re still jumping and popping! K-Pop’s avengers, SuperM, blasted onto the scene with ‘Jopping’ and we were never the same again. And while the song might partially be immortalized thanks to its endless capacity for memes, we dare you to listen to it without it getting stuck in your head. – Anna Marie
45. LE SSERAFIM – ‘UNFORGIVEN’
LE SSERAFIM took the K-Pop world by storm with their charisma, their mindblowing stage presence and, well, their bangers. It is safe to say that every song by LE SSERAFIM is iconic, but ‘UNFORGIVEN’ is their magnum opus. With a Nile Rogers riff, there was no way ‘UNFORGIVEN’ could go wrong! LE SSERAFIM brought confidence, power, and so much more with this song. After the success of ‘FEARLESS’ and ‘ANTIFRAGILE,’ ‘UNFORGIVEN’ proved LE SSERAFIM were here to stay and change our vision of K-Pop forever. – Juu
44. Orange Caramel – ‘Catallena’
This song may be well-known for the “HAH” meme, but it’s so much more iconic than that! Orange Caramel’s ‘Catallena’ is a catchy track with a quirky concept that we couldn’t forget even in another 11 years! This trio has our hearts, and we’re still a little salty that they didn’t get the love they deserved. Orange Caramel is PEAK! – Julie
43. Wonder Girls – ‘Tell Me’
The girlies in second-gen K-Pop knew how to release classics, and no one can prove otherwise. Wonder Girls’ hit song ‘Tell Me’ dropped in 2008. 2008! The iconic choreography and addictive chorus have long been ingrained in our brains. And if it ever comes up in a random play dance, then just know we’re heading straight to the middle of the dance floor! – Julie
42. ENHYPEN – ‘Polaroid Love’
We obviously have to mention ENHYPEN when we are talking about iconic K-Pop boy groups. 41. EXID – ‘Up&Down’
‘Up&Down’ was a game changer for EXID and K-Pop as a whole! ‘Up&Down’ was released as a prelude to the AH YEAH EP and without much fanfare — until a fancam of Hani went viral on social media. EXID appeared on the charts and even promoted ‘Up&Down’ months after the initial promotion period. Aside from the fancam, some shining factors are the vibrant and macabre spectacle of the music video and the earworm of the chorus, “위 아래, 위 위 아래, 위 아래, 위 위 아래” (“Up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down”). ‘Up&Down’ launched EXID into prominence and served as the blueprint for following comebacks such as ‘Hot Pink’ and ‘DDD,’ as well as demonstrating the potential of the fancam. – Amanda
40. IZ*ONE – ‘Secret Story of the Swan’
IZ*ONE is one of those groups that could never be replicated. It was rare, we were there, and we remember it all too well. Looking back, this group assembled the leaders of the 4th gen because before we got LE SSERAFIM or IVE or any solos, we had IZ*ONE. ‘Secret Story Of The Swan’ came after a long break, and they knew they had one chance to change our lives – and they did. ‘Secret Story Of The Swan’ is peak pop perfection, with catchy melodies, that one line that will never leave our head, a dance break that blew everyone away, and immaculate energy. It represents everything we love about K-Pop and girl groups. Written with a pink glitter pen, written for the history books, ‘Secret Story Of The Swan’ remains a masterpiece. – Juu
39. Super Junior – ‘Mr. Simple’
Bring on the K-Pop OGs! You just had to be there to witness Super Junior’s legendary song, ‘Mr. Simple!’ Keep in mind that they already had a well-established career by the early 2010s. ‘Mr. Simple’ only solidified their status! The hand-flick move is iconic as ever. Everything about this song is a vibe, and we keep it on rotation in our playlists. – Julie
38. PSY – ‘Gentleman’
When ‘Gangnam Style’ blasted across the world and became the first Korean language song to reach number two on the Billboard Hot 100, there were plenty of people who thought PSY wouldn’t be able to follow it up. But he did, and then some. Featuring the cast of Infinite Challenge and PSY pulling countless pranks, ‘Gentleman’ allowed international fans to see so much more of PSY’s exuberant persona, while still giving us one of the catchiest songs (and choreos) ever seen. – Anna Marie
Tied For 36-37: MAMAMOO – ‘HIP’
We fully believe that any of MAMAMOO’s title tracks would deserve a spot in our top 50 iconic K-Pop songs. Though their 2019 hit, ‘HIP,’ has to be one of our favorite contenders by far! We love how it’s a diss to all the haters who criticize MAMAMOO’s fashion and make a controversy out of everything they do. These queens will always be themselves and wear whatever they want, and we live for their realness! – Julie
Tied For 36-37: NCT 127 – ‘Kick It’
‘Kick It’ is such an iconic K-Pop song that when London’s V&A Museum had an exhibition on Korea’s cultural wave, this was one of the tracks they chose to highlight. So, naturally, we had to highlight it, too! ‘Kick It’ manages to blend hip-hop and heavy metal in an absolutely anthemic banger! The music video is one of K-Pop’s greatest of all time, too, with heavy influences from the world of action movies and martial arts. – Anna Marie
35. Brown Eyed Girls – ‘Abracadabra’
‘Abracadabra’ by Brown Eyed Girls. Need we say more? It’s been almost 15 years, and we’re still not over the jaw-dropping choreography and music video. 33. IU – ‘Palette’
There’s something so surreal when we listen to a timeless song like ‘Palette’ by IU. The lyrics “I like it / I’m 25” hit differently when you actually turn 25 and realize the same things that IU does. This song offers so much comfort during the whirlwind of changes in your mid-20s. G-Dragon’s rap only gives us even more reassurance that we’re exactly who we need to be right now. – Julie

GFRIEND’s bright concept paired with such killer choreography will forever be ingrained in our brains. We still can’t believe the song is almost 10 years old, but you’ll never catch us skipping this track when it comes on shuffle! – Julie
29. (G)I-DLE – ‘TOMBOY’
Ever since (G)I-DLE won the Music Show Trophy on The Show less than a month after debuting, we knew they would be unstoppable, and they have proven us right with each comeback since. The ladies refused to be pigeonholed in their sound and aesthetic, and ‘TOMBOY’ is a prime example of that. A few months before embracing their femininity with ‘Nxde,’ (G)I-DLE played into a more masculine and grunge style with leather and dark makeup in ‘TOMBOY,’ with a pop-punk song as a soundtrack while the members asserted their dominance in their queendom. Leader Soyeon, who helped write and produce the track, included powerful, impactful lyrics, especially since younger audiences are listening to and being influenced by them: “Do you want a blond Barbie doll? / It’s not here, I’m not a doll,” and “It’s neither man nor woman / Just me, I-DLE.” – Amanda

We still remember the steps to the chorus to this day, which should tell you enough. TWICE doesn’t know what a bad song is, and we’ll never get tired of their discography! – Julie

26. ITZY – ‘WANNABE’
ITZY started the 4th gen with a banger, but there was no bigger cultural reset than the release of ‘WANNABE’ at the beginning of 2020. While ITZY already had a unique sound and everyone had their name in their mouth, ‘WANNABE’ was the song that established them as the timeless group they will forever be! ‘WANNABE’ is unapologetic, confident, fun, and one of the best songs to come out of 2020. The song itself is perfect, with an overwhelmingly incredible production, striking vocals, and memorable melodies. But of course, we can’t talk about ‘WANNABE’ without talking about the choreography and the way ITZY had every single one of us trying *that* shoulder move. If there’s a song to exemplify the epitome of ITZY’s self-value and confident message, along with their unmatched dancing and performing skills, it’s ‘WANNABE.’ And that’s how it marked a whole entire generation. – Juu

23. IVE – ‘LOVE DIVE’
Few girl groups have ever had a debut year like IVE did. Releasing ‘ELEVEN,’ ‘LOVE DIVE,’ and ‘After LIKE’ as their first three title tracks started their journey off on an incredible high. However, despite the name, it was ‘LOVE DIVE’ that made our hearts soar the highest. The enticing pop track is completely addictive, and after the single album hit number one in South Korea, it’s clear we’re not the only ones who think so. We’re manifesting for 2NE1 to perform ’I AM THE BEST’ in their headlining set for the Head in the Clouds festival! – Julie
Tied For 18-19: ATEEZ – ‘Ice On My Teeth’
ATEEZ absolutely understood the assignment with ‘Ice On My Teeth,’ serving lots of drip and next-level confidence that had ATINY absolutely losing their minds. The track’s sleek production and razor-sharp performance showcase why these boys are considered fourth-generation K-pop royalty, blending hip-hop/trap with their signature theatrical energy.
